“And it shall come to pass, when your children shall say to you, What do you mean by this service? That you shall say, It is the sacrifice of the LORD’S Passover, who passed over the houses of the children of Israel in Egypt, when He smote the Egyptians, and delivered our houses. And the people bowed the head and paid homage to the LORD.”
Exodus 12:26-27
God commanded Moses to speak to Israel concerning the Passover. The night before the exodus of Israel, God executed judgement throughout the oppressive land of Egypt (Exodus 12:1-12). His instructions to Israel were for each household to take a lamb and eat the meat in haste. Let us delve into the meaning of this particular Law of the Passover in order that we might keep it in its exact interpretation.
The Sacrificial Lamb
“To what purpose is the multitude of your sacrifices unto Me? says the LORD: I am full of the burnt offerings of rams, and the fat of fed beasts; and I delight not in the blood of bullocks, or of lambs, or of he goats.”
Isaiah 1:11
The prophet Isaiah makes it clear that God does not like the sacrifice of lambs. We learn from Barnabas, a scribe who taught alongside the apostle Paul, that the Law is a shadow or parable of things to come and not the actual image of the things being spoken (Hebrews 10:1). In his general epistle, he explains that when Moses forbade certain meats, it was a parable. It means to avoid people that are like unto greedy swine, weasels, ravenous birds, etc. Lawfully eating the meat of an innocent lamb, therefore, is to join yourself to those that reverence the Lord and keep His Commandments (Barnabas 9).
“And looking upon Jesus as he walked, he said, Behold the Lamb of God!”
John 1:36
Y’hoshua (Jesus) did not transgress any of God’s Commandments and therefore was as innocent as a lamb. He fulfilled prophecy when he was killed during Passover. The Lamb, then, that we must feed from, is Y’hoshua.
“Now before the feast of the passover, when Jesus knew that his hour was come that he should depart out of this world unto the Father, having loved his own which were in the world, he loved them unto the end.”
John 13:1
To eat is another way of saying to be nourished. Consider the phrase “food for thought”. Contemplating feeds the mind. When we come to understand the true meaning of the words spoken by Y’hoshua, the Lamb of God, our minds become nourished with wisdom. That is how we “eat the meat of the lamb.” That is what is called for by God.
Eat it in haste – the time is now!
Tribulations and calamities are becoming more intense each day. God’s wrath is clearly coming to fruition. The human race needs to amend its ways in order to survive. A global pandemic is currently taking its toll on the oppressive world in which we live. This is the time to ask questions and look for answers as quickly as possible.
“And thus shall you eat it; with your loins girded, your shoes on your feet, and your staff in your hand; and you shall eat it in haste: it is the LORD’S passover.”
Exodus 12:11
We must study the teachings of Y’hoshua, and learn their true interpretation. Everything he said was a quote from the prophets and scribes who came before him. His parables expounded on what he had learned from God’s Word. We must study scripture to learn the Righteous Will of God. Eat it in haste and His Wrath will Passover you!
