March Madness

The month of ‘March’ is named after Mars, the Roman god of war, which is madness in itself. The Romans have always been a war-like people. The original Roman calendar began with the month of March. Beginning with Spring, it is the time when they could all go out and begin fighting each other again. It was March Madness!

The God of War! WHAT??

January is named for the Roman god, Janus; February for a Roman festival of purification. These were added later when the calendar underwent another reformation. The way they keep changing times and dates is sheer madness!

Madness of the March Hare

The Mad ‘March Hare’ is a fictional character in Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland (1865) by Lewis Carroll. He behaves in a most unpredictable manner as the host of a tea party along with his friend the Mad Hatter. Alice has many wondrous, often bizarre adventures with thoroughly illogical and very strange creatures, often changing size unexpectedly. It’s a story of delusion and her encounters with madness!

The March Hare

‘Easter’ is named for and associated with the Babylonian goddess, Ishtar. This Spring celebration includes bunnies and eggs: It is a Roman fertility celebration.

In modern times, the term ‘March Madness’ applies to college basketball. But there is a real ‘madness’ happening to the inhabitants of this world as a whole. A mass psychosis is taking place, not limited to the month of March. It has begun and is getting progressively worse. Anyone paying attention can see it. But what is the reason and what is the meaning of all the madness? The answer can only be found in the Word of God! Let’s take a look:

Madness for Idols

“The Word that the LORD spoke against Babylon and against the land of the Chaldeans by Jeremiah the Prophet. Declare among the nations, and publish, and set up a standard; publish, and do not conceal, say, ‘Babylon is caught, Bel is confounded, Marduk is broken in pieces; her idols are shameful, her images are broken in pieces… A drought is upon the Chaldeans, saith the LORD, and upon the inhabitants of Babylon… A drought is upon the liars; and they shall become fools: a drought is upon her mighty men; and they shall be dismayed… A drought is upon her waters; and they shall be dried up: for it is the land of graven images, and they act like madmen for their idols.”

Jeremiah 50:1-2, 35-38

“A copy of a letter which Jeremiah sent to the captives who were being taken to Babylon by the king of Babylon, to report to them as he had been commanded by God. Because of the sins which you have committed in the sight of God, you are taken to Babylon as captives by Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon.”

When you reach Babylon, you will stay there for many years, and for a long time, seven generations (70 years); but afterward I will bring you away from there in peace. Now in Babylon you will see gods made of silver and gold and wood, carried on men’s shoulders, inspiring awe in the heathen.”

So beware of becoming just like the foreigners, and being filled with awe at them, when you see the throng before and behind them worshiping them, But say in your heart, ‘LORD, we must worship You…’ For their tongues are polished by a carpenter and they are gilded and silvered, but they are deceptions and cannot speak

It cannot save itself from war nor robbers. Therefore it is manifest that they are not gods, so you must not stand in awe of them… There is no breath in them.”

Epistle of Jeremiah 1:1-8, The Apocrypha

The Commandments and the Covenant

“God spoke all these words, saying, ‘I am the LORD your God, which has brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. You shall have no other gods before Me. You shall not make unto yourself any graven image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.

You shall not bow down yourself to them, nor serve/worship them: for I the LORD your God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate Me; And showing mercy unto thousands of them that love Me and keep My Commandments. You shall not take the Name/Authority of the LORD your God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that takes His Name in vain…”

“They shall be greatly ashamed, that trust in graven images, that say to the molten images, ‘You are our gods’.”

“Whoso causes the Righteous to go astray in an evil way, he shall fall himself into his own pit…”

“My people have been lost sheep: their shepherds have caused them to go astray, they have forgotten their resting-place. …Remove out of the midst of Babylon and go forth out of the land of the Chaldeans and be as the he goats before the flocks.”

The Messenger of the Covenant

“Behold, I will send My Messenger and he shall prepare the way before Me: and the Lord whom you seek, shall suddenly come to his temple, even the Messenger of the Covenant, whom you delight in: behold, he shall come, saith the LORD of hosts. But who may abide the day of his coming? …”

Malachi 3:1-3

The Light of Christ

“Live with Christ and he will save you. For he is the true Light and the Sun of Life. For just as the sun, which is manifest and makes light for the eyes of the flesh, so Christ illuminates every mind and the heart. For if a wicked man who is in the body has an evil death, how much more so does he who has his mind blind. For every blind man goes along in such a way that he is seen just as one who does not have his mind sane. He does not delight in acquiring the Light of Christ, which is reason.”

Silvanus :34, Nag Hammadi Library

The Reason for the Madness

“All nations shall ask, ‘Why has the LORD done thus unto this land? What does the heat of this great anger mean?’ Then men shall say, ‘Because they have forsaken the Covenant of the LORD God of their fathers, which He made with them when He brought them forth out of the land of Egypt: For they went and served other gods, and worshiped them, gods whom they knew not, and whom He had not given to them: And the anger of the LORD is kindled against this land, to bring upon it all the curses that are written in this Book: And the LORD rooted them out of their land in anger, and in wrath, and in great indignation, and cast them into another land, as it is this day…”

Deuteronomy 29:24-29

The Abrahamic Covenant

“Now the LORD had said to Abram, ‘Get out of your country and from your kindred and from your father’s house, unto a land that I will show you: And I will make of you a great nation, and I will bless you, and make your name great; and you shall be a blessing: And I will bless them that bless you, and curse him that curses you: and in you shall all families of the earth be blessed.”

Genesis 12:1-3

“Your name shall no more be called Abram, but your name shall be Abraham; for a father of many nations have I made you. And I will make you exceedingly fruitful, and I will make nations of you, and kings shall come out of you. And I will establish My Covenant between Me and you and your seed after you in their generations for an Everlasting Covenant, to be a God unto you and to your seed after you. … and I will be their God. And God said to Abraham, ‘You shall keep My Covenant therefore, you, and your seed after you in their generations.”

Genesis 17:5-9

“Seeing that Abraham shall surely become a great and mighty nation, and all the nations of the earth shall be blessed in him. For I know him, that he will command his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of the LORD, to do justice and judgment; that the LORD may bring upon Abraham that which He has spoken of him.”

“And it shall come to pass, if you shall hearken diligently unto the voice of the LORD your God, to observe and to do all His Commandments which I command you this day, that the LORD your God will set you on high above all nations of the earth: And all these blessings shall come on you, and overtake you, if you shall hearken unto the voice of the LORD your God.”

And you shall not go aside from any of the words which I command you this day, to the right hand, or to the left, to go after other gods to serve them… But it shall come to pass, if you will NOT hearken unto the voice of the LORD your God, to observe to do all His Commandments and His statutes which I command you this day; that all these curses shall come upon you, and overtake you…”

Deuteronomy 28:1-2, 13-15

Madness: Consequence of Breaking the Covenant

“…The LORD shall smite you with madness, and blindness, and astonishment of heart: And you shall grope at noonday, as the blind gropes in darkness, and you shall not prosper in your ways: and you shall be only oppressed and spoiled evermore, and no man shall save you…

The fruit of your land, and all your labors, shall a nation which you don’t know eat up; and you shall be only oppressed and crushed always: So that you shall be mad for the sight of your eyes which you shall see. The LORD shall smite you in the knees, and in the legs, with a sore botch that cannot be healed, from the sole of your foot unto the top of your head (Isaiah 1). The LORD shall bring you, and your king/ruler which you shall set over you, unto a nation which neither you nor your fathers have known; and there shall you serve other gods, gods of wood and stone.”

Deuteronomy 28:27-29, 33-36
Crazy Mind

“Since the day that your fathers came forth out of the land of Egypt unto this day I have even sent unto you all My servants the Prophets, daily rising up early and sending them: Yet they have not hearkened unto Me, nor inclined their ear, but hardened their neck: they have done worse than their fathers. Therefore you shall speak all these words unto them; but they will not hearken to you: you shall also call unto them; but they will not answer you. You shall say to them, ‘This is a nation that does NOT obey the voice of the LORD their God, nor receives correction: truth is perished, and is cut off from their mouth.”

Jeremiah 7:25-28

And this is the reason and the meaning of a World gone Mad!
