Jezebel, the False Prophetess
Jezebel, described in the Book of Revelation by Jesus as: “that woman which calls herself a prophetess, to teach and to seduce my servants to commit fornication, and to eat things sacrificed unto idols…” Even though Jezebel was a woman who existed many years before Christ, she was a shadow of an entity he prophesied to come. One who “commits fornication with the kings or rulers of the earth.” (Revelation 17 & 18) “How much she has glorified herself… for she says in her heart, I sit a queen… I shall see no sorrow.” Just as Jezebel had an army of the “Prophets of Baal,” this one also has an army of priests and prophets who do her bidding, serve and “eat at her table.”
Jezebel, the Whorish Woman
Through the centuries the mention of “Jezebel” paints a picture of a whorish false prophet, a pagan masquerading as a servant of the true God, the God of Israel. She influenced her husband, Ahab, king of the House of Israel, into the pagan Canaanite worship practices of “Baal and Ashtoreth,” so-called “King and Queen of Heaven.” Thereby, all of Israel has been led into sin by her worship practices.
Because of these practices the Kingdom of Israel was split into two houses, of Israel and Judah, each one being taken into captivity at separate times for their infidelity to their God. When He brought them out of the harsh bondage and oppression of Egypt, He told them, through Moses, not to return to the ways of Egypt, where they had been, and not to go in the way of the Canaanites in whose land they were going. They quickly offended God and defiled themselves by their worship of the “Golden Calf.”
Sadly, to this day, they still engage in these pagan worship practices of venerating statues and images, burning incense to them, celebrating false “holy days” or holidays, reverencing false prophets and altogether going in the ways of false, pagan religion. Therefore, they remain in their captivity and oppression. They have turned their backs to the One True God, the Only One who is able to deliver them from their Tribulation.
The Chaos of Jezebel’s Table
When you consider the utter chaos and confusion in the world today and wonder, “What in the hell is going on here?!” Remember, Jesus said, “…as a snare it shall come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth. Watch therefore, and pray always, that you may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass…” (Luke 21)
Come Out of Her!
Babylon has fallen, has fallen! “Come out of her, my people, that you are not partakers of her sins, and that you don’t receive of her plagues. For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God has remembered her iniquities… for strong is the LORD God who judges her.” Revelation 18
