Veneration of the Cross

“For they provoked Him to anger with their high places, and moved Him to jealousy with their graven images.”

“The Cross of Wales, a new processional cross presented by His Majesty King Charles III as a centenary gift to the Church in Wales, will lead the Coronation procession at Westminster Abbey on 6 May. In a significant ecumenical gesture, the Cross of Wales will incorporate a relic of the True Cross, the personal gift of Pope Francis to His Majesty The King to mark the Coronation.”

“The relics of what is known as the True Cross were given to King Charles by Pope Francis, as a coronation gift…Set into the silver cross will be two small wooden shards, originating from what is claimed to be the cross on which Jesus was crucified. Such relics of the True Cross have been venerated for centuries, with pilgrimages made to churches where they are held. There has also been long-standing skepticism about the volume and authenticity of such relics and whether they could all come from a single cross.”

The Cross of Wales, as it’s called, features two splinters reportedly taken from the cross Jesus was crucified on 2,000 years ago. The Times reports that the pieces of wood, measuring about 0.2 and 0.4 inches, were a “personal coronation gift” from the Pope to the King, adding that the Vatican believes the wood is from the “true cross.”

Globus Cruciger gifted by Pope Francis

In April 2014, the late Queen Elizabeth and the Duke of Edinburgh received a gift for Prince George during their private, half-hour audience with Pope Francis.
The pontiff gave his visitors a lapis lazuli globe with a cross as a gift for their eight-month-old great-grandson. It bore the inscription: “Pope Francis, to his royal highness Prince George of Cambridge.”

Lapis lazuli globe with a cross with the inscription: “Pope Francis, to his royal highness Prince George of Cambridge.”

“Comprised of an orb topped with a cross, Globus Cruciger is a Christian symbol that has been used since the Middle Ages to emphasize the dominion of Christianity over the world. The cross is representative of Christ and his sacrifice, while the orb or globe represents the world. Together, they symbolize the triumph of Christ over the world. This composite symbol is also known as the Cross Triumphant and has been used in iconography, coins as well as royal regalia. Even before Christianity, the Pagans used the globe as a symbol of authority. Holding it in one’s hands or having it under the foot was a clear visual message of established power or supremacy over the world…It was adopted by powerful Christian rulers and made a part of royal regalia, symbolizing that the Emperor or King controlled the world on behalf of the Lord.”

“Listen therefore, kings, and understand: learn this, judges of the end of the earth; Pay attention, rulers of the people, who boast of multitudes of nations; For your dominion was given you from the LORD, and your sovereignty from the Most High; He will examine your works and inquire into your plans; For though you are servants of His Kingdom, you have not judged rightly, or kept the Law, or followed the Will of God. He will come upon you terribly and swiftly, for a stern judgment overtakes those in High Places. For the humblest man may be forgiven through mercy, but the mighty will be mightily tested, For the Lord of all will show no partiality, and will not respect greatness, for it was He who made small and great, and He takes thought for all alike, But a rigorous inquiry is in store for the powerful. My words are addressed to you, therefore, you monarchs, so that you may learn wisdom and not go astray; For those who observe holy things in holiness will be made holy, and those who are taught them will have a defense to offer; So desire my words, long for them, and you will be instructed.”

In This Sign Thou Shalt Conquer

“In Signo Hoc Vinces” – “In This Sign Thou Shalt Conquer” Roman Emperor Constantine sees a vision of a cross with those words during the Battle of Milvius Bridge, year 312.

In 312, Constantine, while battling for control of the empire, claimed to have a vision: a cross in the sky, accompanied by the words ‘In Hoc Signo Vinces’ (Greek : ἐν τούτῳ νίκα), meaning “In This Sign Thou Shalt Conquer.”

“In 325, Constantine brought together the bishops of East and West at a council in Nicaea. Christian unity is defined on the basis of a common dogma. The organization and discipline of the Church were codified.”

In Signo Hoc Vinces: Meaning and Origin

“Post-Nicene historians such as Socrates of Constantinople relate that Helena, the mother of the Roman emperor Constantine I, travelled to the Holy Land in the years 326–328, founding churches and establishing relief agencies for the poor. The late 4th-century historians Gelasius of Caesarea and Tyrannius Rufinus claimed that while there she discovered the hiding place of three crosses that were believed to have been used at the crucifixion of Jesus and the two thieves, St. Dismas and Gestas, executed with him. To one cross was affixed the titulus bearing Jesus’s name, but according to Rufinus, Helena was not sure until a miracle revealed that this was the True Cross. Many churches possess fragmentary remains that are by tradition alleged to be those of this True Cross… Forging of relics for sale or to promote religious tourism (pilgrimage) was common during the medieval period…”

The Cross Predates Jesus

Long before Jesus was crucified, the cross symbol was used in pagan worship rituals for Tammuz in the Mysteries of Babylon. Its origin is from ancient Egypt whose Sun-god was Osiris. The same rituals of cross veneration are performed today in the name of Jesus. The veneration of the cross is an idolatrous abomination unto God and does not honor His Son.

The Greek Cross (+), found on Assyrian tablets, Egyptian and Persian monuments, and on Etruscan pottery…The Latin cross (┼), or “crux immissa.” This symbol is also found on coins, monuments, and medals, long before the Christian era. The tau cross (T), or “crux commissa.” Very ancient indeed, and supposed to be a phallic emblem. *The tau cross with a handle (called an αnχ in Egyptian Hieroglyph, see Egyptian cross pictured above) is common to several Egyptian deities, as Isis, Osiris, etc.; and is the emblem of immortality and life generally.”

The Dictionary of Phrase & Fable by E. Cobham Brewer

“Crosses of various kinds were favorite motifs in the art of Chaldea, Phoenicia, Egypt, and Assyria. The initiates of the Eleusian Mysteries of Greece were given a cross which they suspended about their necks on a chain, or cord, at the time of initiation.”

The TAU of Tammuz

“What does the worship of Tammuz have to do with the sign of the cross? According to historian Alexander Hislop, Tammuz was intimately associated with the Babylon mystery religions begun by the worship of Nimrod, Simiramis, and her illegitimate son, Tammuz. The original form of the Babylonian letter T was † (tau), identical to the crosses used today in this world’s Christianity. This was the initial of Tammuz. Referring to this sign of Tammuz, Hislop writes:

That mystic Tau was marked in baptism on the foreheads of those initiated into the Mysteries... The Vestal virgins of Pagan Rome wore it suspended from their necklaces, as nuns do now... There is hardly a Pagan tribe where the cross has not been found... (The Two Babylons, 1959, pg. 198-199)"
Bibletools.org – What the Bible says about Tammuz

“Augustus Le Plongeon, in his Sacred Mysteries Among the Mayas and Quiches, notes the Crux Ansata, which he calls The Key to the Nile and the Symbol of Symbols, either in its complete form or as a simple TAU, was to be seen adorning the breasts of statues and bas-reliefs at Palenque, Copan, and throughout Central America.”

“The celebrations in March-April that marked the death of the god [Tammuz] also seem to have been dramatically performed.”

Britannica, Tammuz, Mesopotamian god

The Prophet Ezekiel saw this pagan worship practice of dramatizing the death of Tammuz.

“He also said unto me, ‘Turn yet again, and you shall see greater abominations that they do.’ Then he brought me to the door of the gate of the LORD’S House which was toward the north; and, behold, there sat women weeping for Tammuz.”

Ezekiel 8:13-14

Mysteries of Mithras

“The TAU cross was inscribed on the forehead of every person admitted into the Mysteries of Mithras.”

“Concerning the crucifixion of the Persian Mithras, J.P. Lundy has written: Dupuis tells us that Mithra was put to death by crucifixion, and rose again on the 25th of March. In the Persian Mysteries the body of a young man, apparently dead, was exhibited, which was feigned to be restored to life. By his sufferings he was believed to have worked their salvation, and on this account he was called their Savior. His priests watched his tomb to the midnight of the vigil of the 25th of March, with loud cries, and in darkness; when all at once the light burst forth from all parts, the priest cried, ‘Rejoice, O sacred initiated, your god is risen. his death, his pains, and sufferings, have worked your salvation.'”

Tale as Old as Osiris

Osiris depicted with Tau crosses, the ancient Egyptian emblem of Life

“Furthermore, we find that the doctrine of eternal life and of the resurrection of a glorified or transformed body, based upon the ancient story of the resurrection of Osiris after a cruel death and horrible mutilation, inflicted by the powers of evil, was the same in all periods…and in texts of all periods, the life, sufferings, death, and resurrection of Osiris are accepted as facts universally admitted.”

[Osiris] became king of Egypt, and devoted himself to civilizing his subjects and to teaching them the craft of husbandman; he established code of laws and bade men worship the gods.”

“This is the story of the sufferings and death of Osiris as told by Plutarch. Osiris was the god through whose sufferings and death the Egyptian hoped that his body might rise again in some transformed or glorified shape, and to him…the Egyptian appealed in prayer for eternal life through his victory and power.”

The ceremonies connected with the celebration of the events of the sufferings, the death and the resurrection of Osiris occupied a very prominent part in the religious observances of the Egyptians,”

The Egyptian Book of the Dead pages xlviii-xlix, cxiii

Ceremonial Sun Worship

Annual reenactment of suffering, death and resurrection is an ancient sun worship ritual. Osiris of Egypt, Mithras of the Persians, and Tammuz of the Babylonians/Romans all suffered, died and rose again.

“Nearly all these stories can be traced to sun worship, for the glorious orb of day is the Savior who dies annually for every creature within his universe, but year after year rises again victorious from the tomb of winter.”

“Among those connected historically or allegorically with a crucifixion are Prometheus, Adonis, Apollo, Atys, Bacchus, Buddha, Christna, Horus,..” The list goes on.

The Secret Teachings of All Ages by Manly P. Hall page 600

Good Friday

To this day, Good Friday services include the crucifixion, dramatically reenacted, now done in the name of Jesus.

The continual practice of these abominable pagan traditions darkens the message of Jesus. As he said himself:

“Thus have you made the commandment of God of none effect by your tradition. You hypocrites, well did Isaiah prophesy of you, saying, ‘This people draws near unto Me with their mouth and honors Me with their lips; but their heart is far from Me. But in vain they do worship Me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.”

Matthew 15:6-9

At the time of Jesus, the Romans used crucifixion as a means to execute non-Roman citizens. There is nothing holy about the cross itself, it is an instrument for torture and death. The Latin word “crucifixus” literally means “fixed to a cross”, and is related to the word “excruciating”.

The Roman Catholic Church venerates the cross to an extreme. The Vatican uses the most graphic images of crucifixion in their worship practices.

“And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet color, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication: And upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH. And I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints/Holy Ones, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus: and when I saw her, I wondered with great admiration.”

Revelations 17:4-6

A Dishonor to Jesus

It is repulsive and a complete dishonor to Jesus to depict him in this way. Parading around with a bloody statue is not how one honors the memory of a Loved One.

Barnabas, an apostle of Jesus, saw this same ritual of dramatizing the crucifixion in his day. He says, once enlightened by the Word of God, stop doing these dead works. The rituals of ‘Good Friday’ do not glorify Jesus, they put the Son of God to shame.

“Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works…For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, having tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Spirit, And have tasted the good Word of God, and the powers of the world to come, If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.”

Hebrews 6:1-6

Delivered to do all these Abominations?

The ceremonial rituals performed on Good Friday are an abomination unto God. The Prophet Jeremiah wrote:

“Behold, you trust in lying words, that cannot profit. Will you steal, murder, and commit adultery/idolatry, and swear falsely, and burn incense unto Baal, and walk after other gods whom you know not; And come and stand before Me in this House, which is called by My Name and say, ‘We are delivered to do all these abominations’.?”

Jeremiah 7:8-10

You Shall Not Do This unto the LORD

“For so it was, that the children of Israel had sinned against the LORD their God, which had brought them up out of the land of Egypt, from under the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt, and had reverenced other gods, And walked in the statutes of the heathen, whom the LORD cast out from before the children of Israel,…and the children of Israel did secretly/covertly those things that were not right against the LORD their God,…as did the heathen whom the LORD carried away before them; and worked wicked things to provoke the LORD to anger: For they served idols, whereof the LORD had said unto them, ‘You shall not do this thing.'”

2 Kings 17:12

“These are the statutes and judgements, which you shall observe to do…you shall hew down the graven images of their gods, and destroy the names of them out of that place. You shall not do so unto the LORD your God.”

Deuteronomy 12:3-4

Warning from a Witness

“Thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; you have seen all the evil that I have brought upon Jerusalem, and upon all the cities of Judah; and, behold, this day they are a desolation, and no man dwells therein, Because of their wickedness which they have committed to provoke Me to anger, in that they went to burn incense and to serve other gods, whom they knew not, neither they, you, nor your fathers. Howbeit I sent unto you all My servants the prophets, rising early and sending them, saying, ‘Oh, do not do this abominable thing that I hate.”

Jeremiah 44:2-4

After the Fall of Jerusalem, many of the tribe of Judah went down into Egypt. Jeremiah warned them not to serve the gods of the Egyptians. As shown earlier, the ceremonies and celebrations connected to the worship of Osiris was a prominent part of Egyptian culture. The ceremonies and celebrations on Good Friday and Easter mimic the observances of the suffering, death and resurrection of Osiris.

The cross and the images of crucifixion is idolatry, the worship of them is worthless, corruptible, and a disgusting abomination. These are pagan icons and the yearly reenactment of the crucifixion is a pagan worship practice. Do not provoke God’s anger with these abominations!

The Anger of the LORD

The priests that do these abominations and venerate the cross are leading their congregations astray. They minister in His Name, yet they do the things that He hates.

Pope Francis kisses and worships an idol of Jesus on the cross.

“The anger of the LORD shall not return, until He has executed, and till He has performed the thoughts of His heart: in the latter days you shall consider it perfectly. I have not sent these prophets, yet they ran: I have not spoken to them, yet they prophesied. But if they had stood in My counsel and had caused My people to hear My words, then they should have turned them from their evil way and from the evil of their doings.”

Jeremiah 23:20-22

Moreover all the chief of the priests, and the people, transgressed very much after all the abominations of the heathen; and polluted the House of the LORD which He had hallowed in Jerusalem. And the LORD God of their fathers sent to them by His Messengers/angels, rising up betimes, and sending; because He had compassion on His people, and on His dwelling place: But they mocked the messengers of God, and despised His words, and misused/ridiculed His prophets, until the wrath of the LORD arose against His people, till there was no remedy.”

2 Chronicles 36:14-16

Messenger Mocked

“Then Jesus took unto him the twelve, and said to them, ‘Behold, we go up to Jerusalem, and all things that are written by the prophets concerning the Son of man shall be accomplished. For he shall be delivered unto the Gentiles, and shall be mocked, and spitefully entreated, and spit upon: And they shall scourge him and put him to death: and the third day he shall rise again. And they did not understand any of these things: and this saying was hidden from them, neither did they know the things which were spoken.”

Luke 18:31-34

“Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! because you build the tombs of the prophets, and garnish the sepulchers of the Righteous, And say, ‘If we had been in the days of our fathers, we would not have been partakers with them in the blood of the prophets’. Wherefore you are witnesses unto yourselves, that you are the children of them which killed the prophets. You take up where your fathers left off. You serpents, you generation of vipers, how can you escape the damnation of hell/Gehenna? Wherefore, behold, I send unto you prophets, and wise men, and scribes: and of them you shall kill and crucify; and of them shall you scourge in your synagogues, and persecute them from city to city:”

Matthew 23:29-34

Their Feet Run to Evil

Crusaders with red cross, running to shed blood.

“If they say, ‘Come with us, let us lay wait for blood, let us lurk privily for the innocent without cause: Let us swallow them up alive as the grave; and whole, as those that go down into the pit: We shall find all precious substance, we shall fill our houses with spoil: Cast in your lot among us; let us all have one purse’: My son, do not walk in the way with them; refrain your foot from their path: For their feet run to evil, and make haste to shed blood.”

Proverbs 1:11-16

Atrocities committed in the name of the cross occurred throughout history. The Crusades, Inquisitions, and the Holocaust are just recent examples. Those who venerate the cross have tortured and killed innumerable innocent men, women and children.

“Shall the throne of iniquity, which frames mischief by a law, have fellowship with You, They gather themselves together against the soul of the Righteous, and condemn the innocent blood. But the LORD is my defense; and my God is the Rock of my refuge. And He shall bring upon them their own iniquity, and shall cut them off in their own wickedness; yea, the LORD our God shall cut them off.”

Psalms 94:20-23

The cross also played an integral part during the Inquisitions. During the Spanish Inquisition priests taunted their victims with the cross. The symbol of the cross and Pope Innocent VIII justified the Wicked while it condemned the Righteous.

“Once the victim was properly bound to the stake, additional straw and wood were added to the pyre, sometimes piled up to the prisoner’s neck. The priests ceased their preaching to the condemned man or woman and hastily withdrew to a safe distance, although even then, a cross was sometimes fixed to a long staff and held in front of the victim’s face until the moment of death. By that point, of course, the gesture was intended only to taunt and admonish the victim because it was plainly too late to achieve a conversion [to Catholicism].”

THE BULL OF INNOCENT VIII
Innocent, Bishop, Servant of the servants of God, for an eternal remembrance.

“Desiring with the most heartfelt anxiety, even as Our Apostleship requires, that the Catholic Faith should especially in this our day increase and flourish everywhere, and that all heretical depravity should be driven far from the frontiers and bournes of the Faithful,…We have specified, be deprived of the benefits of the Holy Office thereto assigned, by the tenor of these presents in virtue of Our Apostolic authority We decree and enjoin that the aforesaid Inquisitors be empowered to proceed to the just correction, imprisonment, and punishment of any persons, without let or hindrance,…”

Given at Rome, at S. Peter’s, on the 9 December of the Year of the Incarnation of Our Lord one thousand four hundred and eighty‑four (year 1484), the first Year of Our Pontificate.

The Inquisitions and Crusades were an attempt by the Roman Catholic Church to eliminate the spread of “heretical” beliefs. The Cathars lived according to the teachings of Jesus; the Roman Catholic Church had them exterminated. Jesus foretold of the persecution of his followers. He also said that whoever kills them would think they were doing God a service.

“They shall put you out of the synagogues/congregations: yes, the time will come, that whosoever kills you will think that he does God a service. And these things will they do to you, because they have not known the Father, nor me.”

John 16:2-3

“He that hates me, hates my Father also. If I had not done among them the works which no other man has ever done, they wouldn’t have had had sin: but now have they both seen and hated both me and my Father. But this comes to pass, that the Word might be fulfilled that is written in their law, ‘They hated me without a cause.'”

John 15:23-25

Sacrifice of Praise

O righteous Father, the world has not known you: but I have known you, and these have known that you have sent me. And I have declared unto them Your Name, and will declare it: that the love wherewith You have loved me may be in them, and I in them.”

John 17:25-26

“By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to His Name.”

Hebrews 13:15

And I looked, and, lo, a Lamb stood on the mount Sion/Zion, and with him an hundred forty and four thousand, having his Name and his Father’s Name written in their foreheads… here are they that keep the Commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.”

Revelation 14:1

Glorify God

Offer unto God thanksgiving; and pay your vows unto the most High: And call upon Me in the Day of Trouble/Tribulation: I will deliver you, and you shall glorify Me. But unto the Wicked God says, ‘What have you to do to declare My statutes, or that you should take My Covenant in your mouth? Seeing you hate instruction, and cast My words behind you’. When you saw a thief, then you consented with him, and have been partaker with adulterers/idolaters. You give your mouth to evil, and your tongue frames deceit. You sit and speak against your brother; you slander your own mother’s son. These things have you done, and I kept silence; you thought that I was altogether such an one as yourself: but I will reprove you, and set them in order before your eyes. Now consider this, you that forget God, lest I tear you in pieces, and there be none to deliver. Whoso offers praise, glorifies Me: and to him that orders his conversation aright will I show the Salvation of God.”
