Christmas celebrations, the winter solstice and the years end dominate attention in December. This past December had all of those events and more, but where did the prophecies of God manifest? Below we start off with a look at that famous Christmas holiday and a few verses from God’s Word. Learn what He thinks of this unholy day. Speaking of ‘unholy’, the Pope opened the doors to their unholy tradition of a 25-year Jubilee. God does call for a Jubilee, but it has nothing to do with opening basilica doors. While the world was distracted with December revelry, wars continued in the Middle East, Ukraine, and Sudan. There have been many talks of ceasefires, but one is yet to materialize.

Many people have been taught God’s Word in the past tense. This is incorrect. The teachings and scenarios in the Bible and God’s Word are all prophetic, pointing to a future time, and that time is now.
Christmas Mourning
In many parts of the world, Christmas was a day of mourning. A flight from Azerbaijan crashed in Kazakhstan on Christmas day. Russia’s air-defense system apparently accidentally shot down the plane. Thirty-eight people perished in the crash.
Just a week before, a car rammed into a Christmas market in Germany. The intentional act killed five people and injured over 200. Germany’s President said ‘A dark shadow hangs over this Christmas‘ and certainly all future ones for those who lost loved ones. In the Middle East, a Christmas tree was burned in a ‘Christian’ area of Syria leading to protests. On Christmas Day in Ukraine, Russia attacked the energy infrastructure, plunging parts of the country into darkness from massive blackouts. Darkness and mourning upstaged many Christmas celebrations. But what does this have to do with prophecy?
The Christmas traditions are based on ancient pagan celebrations specifically commanded against by God. He said he would turn the pagan feast days into mourning and in places around the world that very prophecy has been fulfilled.
“And it shall come to pass in that day, saith the Lord God… I will turn your feasts into mourning, and all your songs into lamentation; and I will bring up sackcloth upon all loins, and baldness upon every head; and I will make it as the mourning of an only son, and the end thereof as a bitter day.”
Amos 8:9-10
“Thus says the Lord, Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of Heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them. For the customs of the people are vain: for one cuts a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the axe. They deck it with silver and gold; they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it move not. They are upright as the palm tree, but they speak not… Be not afraid of them; for they cannot do evil, neither also is it in them to do good. For as much as there is none like unto you, O Lord; You are great, and Your name is great in might… among all the wise men of the nations, and in all the kingdoms, there is none like unto you. But they are altogether brutish and foolish: the stock (tree) is a doctrine of vanities.”

Making Merchandise of You
Spending money on gifts, decorations and travel dominates the ‘Holiday Season’, but this year another money-making event commenced. On December 24th the Pope kicked off the 2025 jubilee with the opening of the ‘Holy Door’ of Saint Peters Basilica. The Pope opened Five such ‘sacred’ portals or doors, with one at a large prison in Italy. There is nothing ‘holy’ or ‘sacred’ about these doors. This is a man-made tradition dating back to the 1300’s. It is yet another tradition, like Christmas, that makes void the Word of God.
“Thus have you made the commandment of God of none effect (void) by your tradition. You hypocrites, well did Isaiah prophesy of you, saying, This people draws near to Me with their mouth, and honors Me with their lips; but their heart is far from Me. But in vain they do worship Me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.”

The Roman Jubilee
In May of 2024, the Roman Catholic Church issued a papal bull titled ‘Hope Does Not Disappoint’ proclaiming 2025 as a Jubilee year. The Roman catholic church has typically proclaimed a jubilee every 25 years, although in the past two decades 2013 and 2016 were also jubilee years. What is a Roman Catholic Church Jubilee? It is a year when Catholics travel to designated churches to receive communion, pray for the Pope, say hail Mary’s and do general ‘good works’ such as volunteering. In return they receive a plenary indulgence.
A $5 Billion Jubilee
The Roman Church is expecting over 30 million people to travel to Italy in 2025. The Italian government has been preparing for the increased tourism with over 350 projects, many consist of major construction projects. Rome set the budget for the preparations at a staggering $5 Billion.
Some Roman residents feel the construction work has been a ‘disaster’ with added congestion and one taxi driver is concerned about the upcoming added traffic with the boost in tourism, saying ‘Rome will explode.’ Italy already makes over $20 Billion from tourism every year. No doubt, 2025 will be a boom in profits for both the country and the church. The spike in church tourism also brings a spike in profits. In other words, this is a money-making scheme and has nothing to do with the Jubilee called for in God’s Word. To learn about God’s Jubilee read about when The Trumpet shall sound!
Indulgences
The Roman Church is drawing in these added 30 million people with the carrot of obtaining a plenary indulgence. The indulgence is secured through various means, such as visiting designated churches in Rome, as mentioned above and identified in this article. In return, the Catholics receive plenary indulgences.
According to the Roman Church, an indulgence gives remission of the temporal punishment for sins whose guilt is already forgiven. Sound confusing? It is. The belief is that even if a sin has been forgiven, there is still a ‘spiritual ‘debt to God’ to be atoned for in life otherwise one will be stuck in purgatory after death. To sum up the carrot of plenary indulgences it is a magical golden ticket that gets a Catholic out of purgatory, a place that does not exist. This is nothing more than the teachings of false prophets, warned of by God and Jesus.
“But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction. And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil/wrongly spoken of. And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingers not, and their damnation slumbers not.”

Violence
US School Shootings
2024 ended with a school shooting in Wisconsin that took the lives of two people plus the shooter, a young female teenager. In California, two kindergartners survived a shooting, but with significant injuries in December. The total number of school shootings has decreased slightly from the year before, but is still well above what schools experienced just a decade ago. These tragedy’s claim the lives of both students and teachers and traumatize the communities for decades to come. This is one example of violence continuing to increase in America.
“The earth also was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence. And God looked upon the earth and, behold, it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted his way upon the earth. And God said to Noah, ‘The end of all flesh is come before Me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth.’”

Wars and Rumors of Wars
Israel Wars against the Middle East
Israel continued to attack Gaza, Syria, Lebanon (yes, even after the ‘ceasefire’), the West Bank and Yemen. In Gaza, attacks put the last health facility in the North out of service. Who will handle the victims of the ongoing war now? At the same time, Houthis in Yemen continued to send missiles and drones into Israel targeting an airport and the city of Tel Aviv. Israel managed to intercept most but not all attacks. One attack in Tel Aviv injured fourteen people. Israel also continued to strike Syria with Netanyahu approving a plan to double the Israeli population in the occupied Golan Heights region.
“Draw me not away with the wicked, and with the workers of iniquity, which speak peace to their neighbors, but mischief is in their hearts. Give them according to their deeds, and according to the wickedness of their endeavors: give them after the work of their hands; render to them their desert. Because they regard not the works of the LORD, nor the operation of His hands, He shall destroy them, and not build them up.”

Gaza Genocide
Two more organizations, Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch, issued reports with the conclusion that Israel is committing genocide in Gaza. Highlighted this month was the intentional restriction of drinking water in addition to the 45,000 deaths. Countries that support the conclusions of genocide have seen a response from Israel. For example, Israel closed their Dublin embassy after Ireland supported the International Court of Justice conclusion that Israel is committing genocide.
While scholars write reports and debate the nuances of genocide, people still ‘live’ in Gaza. They are facing ongoing bombings, a harsh winter with dwindling food supplies. The freezing temperatures of winter bring an added challenge to the many living in temporary shelters and tents. There is no end in sight of the suffering occurring in Gaza.
Expanding Wars in Middle East, Syrian Government Collapses
Control over Syria took a swift turn in December when the long-time president Assad fled the country to Moscow and his military crumbled against various advancing rebels. The US, Israel, Turkey, Iran and Russia all have military interests in the country supporting different military groups. As the AP reported, the US has been in direct contact with the group that defeated Assad.
Ongoing power struggles inside and outside of Syria have left the country and region in an even more unstable condition. Iran, in particular, received support from the Assad government. With Assad gone, Iran is reportedly weakened. Israel’s Netanyahu proclaimed the fall of Assad to be a ‘historic day’ and a ‘direct result of our forceful action against Hezbollah and Iran.’ Meanwhile, Iran’s president claimed the downfall of Assad was planned by the US and Israel.
The US military continues to carry out attacks in the Middle East targeting a Houthi-controlled area of Yemen. Israel has been petitioning the UN for a full assault on the Houthis in Yemen. The US is not alone in the military activities. France bombed targets in Syria and Turkey bombed parts of Syria as instability of the country is on full display following the collapse of Assad’s government.
Ukraine-Russian War
Further military aid was committed to Ukraine In December, above what has already been allocated. Air defense systems will join the weapons committed to Ukraine in the last few months. Meanwhile, Russia continued attacks on Ukraine’s energy system with the noted attack on December 25th. In 2023 Ukraine President Zelensky signed a law officially moving the nations Christmas Holiday from January 7th to December 25th in defiance of the Russian Orthodox Church and bringing it in alignment with the dates set by the Roman Catholic Church.
In January, Donald Trump will be sworn in as the new US President. After meeting Ukraine president Zelenskyy in December, Trump has called for an immediate ceasefire. It remains to be seen if this will happen after Trump becomes president. Trump also noted 400,000 soldiers have died in the war, well below the numbers cited by Zelenskyy.

For they sleep not, except they have done mischief; and their sleep is taken away, unless they cause some to fall. For they eat the bread of wickedness, and drink the wine of violence.”

Protests
South Korea was in upheaval for much of the month of December. Their president, Yoon Suk Yeol, declared martial law early in the month until protests demanding his removal led to a reversal of the declaration. In the middle of the month Han Duck-soo replaced President Yoon Suk Yeol. This new interim president was also removed from office within the month. All the while protests by citizens continued throughout the month.
Proposal of a law in Australia to prohibit protests outside of places of worship brought protest. This specifically concerned clergy abuse survivors who have held peaceful protests in the past for occasions such as George Pell’s funeral. Pell was one of the highest ranking Vatican officials accused of covering up abuse for decades.
Winter Solstice!
The Winter Solstice occurred on December 21st! The Northern Hemisphere experiences the shortest daylight hours due to the tilt of the earth away from the sun. Around the world structures have aligned to celestial events such as this for example Stonehenge and the Great Pyramid of Egypt. Caught in Unawares
