Prophecy Monthly – January 2025

2025 started off with a bang. On New Years Day a truck was driven into a crowd in New Orleans and a truck exploded outside of a hotel in Las Vegas. In the first week multiple large wildfires in LA devastated hundreds of thousands of people. There was a ‘ceasefire’ in the Middle East, and the Trump inauguration led to a blizzard of changes from a record number of executive orders. At the same time, the annual Davos meeting gathered world leaders to discuss the state of the world. Meanwhile multiple plane crashes happened in the US and the Doomsday Clock was moved one second closer to midnight. That’s a lot for one month! What do these events have to do with prophecy?

The following map is a summary of current events related to prophecy. Below the map you will find the event details and relevant Scriptural references. Many people have been taught God’s Word in the past tense. This is incorrect. The teachings and scenarios in the Bible and God’s Word are all prophetic, pointing to a future time, and that time is now.

In God’s Name

A shift in power occurred in the US when Donald Trump was inaugurated into the presidency. His inauguration speech didn’t mince words and left no doubt about his agenda for the next four years. Many news outlets covered the ‘era of disruption and division‘ expected with the new administration and the flurry of executive orders certainly initiated major changes. Throughout the pomp and circumstance the Name of God and God’s Will was invoked over and over again. Trump himself said he was ‘saved by God to make America great again.’

Several religious leaders spoke at the event with many referencing the wisdom given to King Solomon and asking God to give wisdom to Trump as a guide during his governance. At no point did these same religious leaders object to the oath taken by Trump and commanded against in the very Bible they all referenced. These religious and government leaders are the ones spoken of who speak great swelling words about God, yet adhere to none of His Commandments.

“…The fourth beast shall be the fourth kingdom upon earth, which shall be diverse/different from all kingdoms, and shall devour the whole earth, and shall tread it down, and break it in pieces… And he shall speak great words against (about) the most High, … and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time.”

Daniel 7:23-25

“Now therefore, what have I here, saith the LORD, that My people are taken away for nought? they that rule over them make them to howl, saith the LORD; and My Name continually every day is blasphemed.”

Isaiah 52:5

Doomsday Clock and Davos

An organization called the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists created a symbolic Doomsday Clock in 1947 during the Cold War. Every year in January, they reset the clock to reflect threats to the planet and the population. This January they set the clock at 89 seconds to midnight, 1 second less than last year and the closest it has ever been to the ‘theoretical point of annihilation.’

The scientists moved the clock as a warning to world leaders. They pointed to the wars in Ukraine and the Middle East. Nuclear armament of North Korea and ‘military pressures’ between China and Taiwan are also a concern. In addition 2024 was the hottest in recorded history topping off a decade with the last ten years as the ten hottest years on record. The ‘potential misuse of biological science’ and of course emerging technologies were raised as a concern. They specifically cited artificial intelligence especially when used in military targeting, something Israel has already been doing in Gaza. In February, Google confirmed what many already knew and lifted its ban on using AI for weapons and surveillance. To learn more about the doomsday clock, read the Atomic Scientists statement linked below and consider the rest of the current events covered in this article.

Adapt and Re-skill or be left behind

Speaking of Artificial Intelligence, the theme for the annual gathering of world leaders in Davos Switzerland was ‘Collaboration for the Intelligent Age’, a reference to the rise of Artificial Intelligence. Davos speakers stressed that ‘people are more crucial than ever’ while at the same time acknowledging that ‘two-fifths of workers’ skill sets will be transformed or become outdated in the next five years‘ due to technology. Speakers encouraged an ‘adaptive mindset’ because ‘a skill learnt now is worth half the value of one learnt six years ago’ meaning the ‘half-life of a skill’ is six years.

But what are these ‘skills’ being spoken of? These are skills relating to the use of technology and how to make a profit with technology related skills. These are not skills acquired over one’s lifetime that used to be a part of one’s basic survival. Skills such as how to grow a tomato in your backyard, start a campfire for warmth outside or apply an herb to a cut to prevent infection, invaluable skills lost to most in the general public.

The technological skills spoken of are only relevant in a technology based world. God’s Creation does not rely on man-made technology. In fact man’s technology is destroying God’s Creation and few are concerned enough to reverse course. Does God have His own reset in mind?

“For the Day of the LORD is near upon all the heathen: as you have done, it shall be done unto you: your reward shall return upon your own head.”

Obadiah 1:15

“The earth also was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence. And God looked upon the earth and, behold, it was corrupt; for all flesh has corrupted his way upon the earth. And God said to Noah, ‘The end of all flesh is come before Me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth.’”

Genesis 6

Digital ID’s

One major aspect of technological changes is the incorporation of digital ID’s. There are seven US states ready to implement digital ID’s in 2025 and many countries have already put systems in place to support the technology. The European Union’s new regulation on digital identification, eIDAS 2.0, is expected to be fully implemented by 2026 or 2027. As one example of early implementation, in Poland 8 million users have already installed an app to hold a digital ID. Currently it can be used to ‘produce a digital version of their ID, check how many penalty points they have on their driving license, look up their vehicle’s history, check air quality and find their polling station.” The applications are expected to link with additional public services in the future including financial transactions.

In June, the first UK digital wallet app will launch that is authorized to contain and use government-issued credentials. The UK plans to expand the wallet to allow users to access account information relating to student loans, benefits and taxes.

In many cases the use of these apps is voluntary. In India, the implementation of Aadhar, the country’s Digital Identification System, was also voluntary, but the use has taken over all aspects of life. Even though their own Supreme Court ruled it was not mandatory, there are many things you can no longer do without an Aadhar card.

Digital ID’s lead to a world where you cannot buy nor sell unless you have it. Where has that been spoken of?

“And he causes all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark (charagma, card) in their right hand, or in their forehead: And that no man might buy or sell, save he that has the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.”

Revelation 13:16-17

Wars and Rumors of Wars

Israel-Hamas War

Israel and Hamas both committed to a ceasefire in January. Immediately after, Hamas was seen patrolling streets and checkpoints in Gaza making a clear show of survival. Prisoner swaps included many that were taken by Hamas into Gaza and hundreds of Palestinians being held in Israeli prisons. The ceasefire also kicked off a massive relocation of Palestinians back to their homes in the northern areas of Gaza. Internal Gaza checkpoints were being manned by Hamas, but a private US contractor was also deployed as part of the ceasefire agreement. Nearly 100 US special force veterans are in Gaza already or on the way to focus on vehicle inspections.

Netanyahu’s first address to his nation following the ceasefire agreement was not very convincing that the ceasefire will hold. He said that his country ‘retained the right to return to fighting if needed’ in Gaza. If they do, they will ‘do that in new, forceful ways’ on which he did not elaborate.

Violence in the West Bank

The West Bank also saw movement of large groups of citizens. Hundreds fled the Jenin refugee camp because Israel was carrying out a multiple day assault on the area. Israel is using the code name ‘Iron Wall’ in their escalated assault on the West bank, a redirection of focus following the ceasefire in Gaza. Israeli settlers in the West bank have also taken to rioting against Palestinians in protest of the release of Palestinian prisoners. US President Trump lifted sanctions that had been placed against Israeli settlers that personally carried out attacks against citizens in the West Bank. There may be a ceasefire in Gaza, but violence between Palestinians and Israeli’s has not come to an end.

Israel – Lebanon ‘Ceasefire’

Israel is extending the deadline to remove troops from Lebanon. Lebanon sees this as a violation of their ceasefire agreement. Israel opened fire on protestors who were demanding Israel withdraw their troops killing 22 and injuring over 100 people. At least 83 people in Lebanon have been killed since the ‘cease-fire’ agreement was made in November. This is in addition to the 4,000 killed since October 2023.

“Draw me not away with the wicked, and with the workers of iniquity, which speak peace to their neighbors, but mischief is in their hearts. Give them according to their deeds, and according to the wickedness of their endeavors: give them after the work of their hands; render to them their desert. Because they do not regard the works of the LORD, nor the operation of His hands, He shall destroy them, and not build them up.”

Psalm 28:3-5

“And it shall come to pass in the last days… many people shall come and say, ‘Come, and let us go up to the Mountain of the LORD, to the House of the God of Jacob and He will teach us of His ways, … and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks: nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more.”

Isaiah 2:2-4

Ukraine-Russian War

The new UK prime minister, Keir Starmer, visited Kyiv for a face to face meeting with Ukraine’s President, Zelensky. During their talks Russia fired a drone directly overhead. Ukraine managed to shoot it down and Starmer committed ongoing support to Ukraine. Is it a coincidence that he committed to send a new mobile air defense system?

Wars on the African Continent

In January at least 500,000 people were displaced due to fighting in the Democratic Republic of Congo between the army and Tutsi minorities who are part of a group called M23. Over 100 were killed and 1,000 injured from the fighting. This region has a long history of violence going back to the Rwandan genocide in 1994. This region is also rich in minerals, specifically those used in electrical vehicle batteries.

Meanwhile, the war in Sudan continues with accusations of a genocide in progress. The International Criminal Court is seeking arrest warrants for several people accused of atrocities. In January 70 people were killed in a hospital during an attack by the Rapid Support Forces in Sudan.

“Enter not into the path of the wicked, and don’t go in the way of evil men. Avoid it, don’t perish by it, turn from it, and pass away. For they don’t sleep except they have done mischief; and their sleep is taken away, unless they cause some to fall. For they eat the bread of wickedness, and drink the wine of violence.”

Proverbs 4:14-17

Wars in South America

Violence in Colombia escalated after a ‘truce between rebel groups vying for control’ of a cocaine hub collapsed. At least 5,000 people fled their homes near the Venezuela border and over one hundred people were killed. The Colombian military initially reported it was sending 300 troops to the region and President Petro pledged to bring the groups to a negotiation. The number of troops increased to 5,000. A representative from a Colombia organization called ‘Ideas for Peace Foundation’ said ‘The Total Peace strategy is dead.’ A few days later President Petro said ‘The ELN (National Liberation Army) has chosen the path of war, and war they will have.’

“Their feet run to evil, and they make haste to shed innocent blood: their thoughts are thoughts of iniquity; wasting and destruction are in their paths. They don’t know the way of Peace and there is no Judgment in their goings: they have made themselves crooked paths: Whosoever goes in that way shall not know peace.”

Isaiah 59:7-8

Sexual and Physical Violence

A Catholic organization called the Sodalitium of Christian Life (SCV) based out of Peru was ‘dissolved’ by Pope Francis. The reasons given include ‘sexual abuses by its founder, financial mismanagement’ and spiritual abuses. These findings are not recent revelations. Accusations of abuse within SCV go back twenty-five years to the year 2000. It was only founded in the 70’s. In 2015 a book titled ‘Half Monks, Half Soldiers’ was written by a victim and included accusations of abuse from thirty former members of SCV. The book triggered an internal investigation by SCV in 2017 that confirmed the leader ‘subjected his recruits to humiliating sexual and psychological abuse.’ The Vatican initiated its own investigation, made attempts at ‘reform’ and has now concluded to just shut down the organization.

Can a Leopard Change it’s Spots?

Can a leopard change its spots? No! And the Roman Catholic Church can’t change either. Pope Francis published a new book in January, a memoir called ‘Hope‘. In the book he reveals his predecessor, Pope Benedict, gave him a large white box full of scandal related documents. Francis writes in the book that Benedict gave him the box and said, ‘Everything is here, documents relating to the most difficult and painful situations. Cases of abuse, corruption, dark dealings, wrongdoings.’

Could some of those documents include issues relating to Cardinal Juan Luis Cipriani Thorne? He is the first cardinal from Opus Dei placed under ‘disciplinary sanctions’ by the Vatican for abuse allegations. Archbishop Apuron is also under sanctions for similar abuse accusations. Even a Nobel Peace Prize-winning former bishop, Belo, is under sanctions. Considering the thousands of priests, bishops and Cardinals around the world accused of abuse, that box looks pretty small to enclose all their scandals.

The Roman Catholic Church is not the only so called ‘Christian church’ embroiled in abuse scandals. The bishop of Liverpool resigned in January following accusations of sexual harassment. Last year, the head of the Church of England resigned because of responses to their sex-abuse scandal.

“Can the Ethiopian change his skin, or the leopard his spots? Then may you also do good, that are accustomed to do evil.”

Jeremiah 13:23

“In the seventh week there will come priests; idolaters, adulterers, money lovers, arrogant, lawless, voluptuaries, pederasts…”

Testament of Levi 17:11

“And after these things I saw another angel come down from Heaven, having great power; and the earth was lightened with his glory. And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, ‘Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils/demons, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird. For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed/become rich through the abundance of her delicacies. And I heard another voice from Heaven, saying, ‘Come out of her, my people, that you are not partakers of her sins, and that you don’t receive of her plagues. For her sins have reached unto Heaven, nd God has remembered her iniquities.”

Revelation 18:1-5

Feast Days into Mourning

A New Year

The first feast day of the year was marred by three events in the US. First off, a truck was deliberately driven into a crowd celebrating New Year’s Day in New Orleans. The attack resulted in 15 deaths and many injuries. Another incident with a truck occurred in Las Vegas. This time the fireworks were inside a truck along with gas canisters that exploded killing one person inside the vehicle. Several people nearby the incident were also injured. Lastly, a gunmen opened fire outside a nightclub in Queens, New York. The event at the nightclub was not a festival, but a memorial for a teenager killed in December. These events were deliberately carried out for destruction and to cause injury and deaths.

But these incidents weren’t the only ones. In Chicago, multiple shootings occurred over New Year’s with one dead and 15 injured. In New York City, New Years brought ‘slashings, stabbings and shootings’ with 2 killed and 8 injured.

Largest Religious Gathering

The largest religious festival gathering ever held began in January in India. The forty-five day long Kumbh Mela festival occurs where the Ganges and Yamuna rivers meet. Millions of people travel to bathe in the rivers and ‘free their body of past sins’ as a way to have salvation. The festival occurs every twelve years and a cycle of festivals is twelve festivals or 144 years long. 2025 is the 144th year in the current cycle making it the grand or Maha Kumbh Mela festival. In addition, significance was seen in the alignment of the planets that coincided with this years event. A record 400 million people are expected to attend this year festival which doesn’t end until the end of February.

In January, a ‘crowd crush’ at the festival in three different areas led to at least 30 deaths and injuries to 60 people. What was meant to be a festive occasion was turned into mourning.

“And it shall come to pass in that day, saith the Lord God… I will turn your feasts into mourning, and all your songs into lamentation; and I will bring up sackcloth upon all loins, and baldness upon every head; and I will make it as the mourning of an only son, and the end thereof as a bitter day.”

Amos 8:9-10

Tribulation

Desperation to Despair

In a desperate attempt to get free fuel, seventy people were killed in Nigeria while trying to collect gasoline from a tanker that had flipped over. The damaged tanker exploded. This is far from the first time this has happened. 170 civilians were killed in October under the same circumstances. The cost of fuel is five times higher than it was two years ago, partially due to the elimination of a fuel subsidy in 2023. Nigeria is an oil rich nation with the 11th largest proven reserves in the world. It is the second largest producer of oil and gas in Africa. Even with such oil resources, the people are desperate for fuel to the point of risking their own lives.

Falling from the Sky

Multiple airline crashes occurred in the US in January. A plane and a helicopter collided in Washington DC. A few days later an air ambulance crashed into a neighborhood in Philadelphia. These disasters took the lives of 80 people and were a devastating start to 2025.

Extreme Weather

Earthquakes, Wildfires & Snowstorms

There were seven earthquakes with a magnitude 6.0 or greater in January. A 6.8 struck Japan and a 7.1 shook China and Tibet. Over 125 people perished in the quakes and many more were injured. There were ten earthquakes in 2024 that were a magnitude 7.0 or greater. On average there are twelve 7.0 or greater earthquakes per year according to volcanodiscovery.com. What will 2025 bring?

Multiple wildfires in densely populated areas devastated Los Angeles. Hurricane force winds made it impossible to stop many of the blazes before thousands of homes and businesses were burned to the ground. Over 100,000 people were evacuated from their homes with many having little to return to.

Meanwhile, a ‘once in a lifetime’ winter storm blanketed multiple states in snow. Twenty-one million people from Texas to the Florida panhandle were under a winter storm warning. Record snow fell in many cities. For example, parts of New Orleans had a record 9 inches of snow. The previous record was 2.7 inches.

“For now disasters have come upon the whole world, and you will stay among them, for God will not deliver you because you have sinned against Him.”

2 Esdras 15:27

“… the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.”

2 Peter 3:10

Look Up!

2025 started off with a rare celestial alignment, a precursor to another event in February. Six planets were in alignment and visible in the night sky. At the end of February, seven planets will be visible at once as they travel along the ecliptic plane. The majesty of God’s Creation is seen on earth and in the Heavens!

“And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; Men’s hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken. And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draws near.”

Luke 21:25-28

Caught in Unawares

“And take heed to yourself, lest at any time your hearts are overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness1“The serpents are the leaders of the peoples and their wine is their ways.” DD 3:19, and cares of this life, and so that day comes upon you in unawareness. For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth. You watch therefore, and pray always, that you may be able to escape all these things that shall come to pass and to stand before the Son of Adam.”
