Prophecy Monthly – July 2024

The month of July was unprecedented! An assassination attempt in the US led to outrage and disbelief towards the violence. Meanwhile, funding for wars escalated and the war-drums beat on. This is hypocrisy!

Several reports were released acknowledging an epidemic of child abuse. New Zealand and the US both report that state and faith-based care facilities brought children and their abusers together.

The weather was again at the top of the list for causing tribulation across the globe. The planet broke a modern-age temperature record two days in a row, with multiple cities surpassing 120F!

The following map is a summary of current events related to prophecy. Below the map you will find the event details and relevant Scriptural references. Many people have been taught God’s Word in the past tense. This is incorrect. The teachings and scenarios in the Bible and God’s Word are all prophetic, pointing to a future time, and that time is now.

Extreme Weather

Wildfires, Volcanoes, Heatwaves & Drought

July weather broke temperature records on both the land and sea. The overall planet set record high temperatures for two days in a row. This is a modern-age high-temperature based on record keeping going back to the 1940’s. The planet has existed for millions of years, but has not always been an inhabitable planet. These modern-age temperature swings are an indication of larger cycles of the planet and universe.

In New Zealand, the sea temperatures rose to a record high raising alarm over marine life and ecosystems. In Japan, a heatwave led to four deaths and a heatstroke alert was issued encouraging people not to go outside. Las Vegas set a record with five consecutive days of 115F. Several cities reached 120 degrees or higher!

Wildfires in Canada and the US caused mass evacuations and the loss of homes. Smoke is still blanketing the nearby regions.

“But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.”

Storms, Landslides, Mudslides, Floods

Heavy rains caused flooding and mudslides on several continents. In Ethiopia many people were displaced from their homes and at least 300 people perished when mudslides impacted the south-western area of the country. In the Philippines and Taiwan, Typhoon Gaemi caused flooding that displaced over 500,000 people and killed 21. Meanwhile, in China, a bridge collapsed during heavy flooding killing 11 with at least 30 people still missing. These extreme weather events are becoming more frequent and more extreme.

India also experienced massive landslides killing at least 166 people with 200 still missing. Five times ‘the normal amount of rain’ fell on the region during the monsoon season.

Hurricane Beryl, a category 4, caused damage from wind and rain across parts of the Caribbean, Mexico, and the US from Texas to Vermont. The hurricane took 36 lives in Texas alone. Hundreds of thousands of people were without power during a heatwave following the storm.

“For now disasters have come upon the whole world, and you will stay among them, for God will not deliver you because you have sinned against Him.”

2 Esdras 15:27

“And he answered and said to me: ‘You also will be preserved until that time, namely until that sign which the Most High will bring about before the inhabitants of the earth at the end of days. When horror seizes the inhabitants of earth, and they fall into many tribulations and further, they fall into great torments. And it will happen that they will say in their thoughts because of their great tribulations, ‘The Mighty One does not anymore remember the earth’; It will happen when they lose hope, that the time will awake.”

Wars and Rumors of Wars

Israel-Hamas War

The Israel-Hamas war just goes on and on. Prime Minister Netanyahu made a tirp to the US to speak directly to the US Congress. Some questioned why a war-criminal was allowed such a platform, while a significant number of representatives gave multiple standing ovations to the speech. His purpose was to ensure ‘we will win’ in his ongoing war that American politicians are fully supporting. You can watch the full speech here. Netanyahu quoted the Bible and said his solders ‘have risen like lions, the lions of Judah.’ This is a reference to Numbers 23:24 when Balaam blessed instead of cursed Israel. But the Israel referred to in the Bible is the decedents of all twelve of Jacob’s sons, not a region of land referred to as Israel by men and occupied by war-mongers. The Israel referred to in the Bible is a peaceable people!

“Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.”

Matthew 5:9
Child victims

Again, Israel instructed the Palestinians to move to different regions, ones they had previously evacuated, keeping the churning of people and resulting chaos and confusion an everyday oppression for the people of Gaza. Now a new misery has emerged. The polio-virus has been discovered in Gaza adding to the list of reasons this war zone is one of “the most dangerous places to be a child right now” according to the head of the UN children’s agency. Currently, an estimated 16,000 children have been killed in Gaza. The region of Israel is not a safe place for children either. An attack from Lebanon killed 12 children and teenagers playing on a soccer field.

Israeli forces killed leaders of both Hamas and Hezbollah during July, a move that will certainly only increase violence from all sides. Iran has already vowed to take revenge for the killing.

Learn War no More

A few Israeli solders have reported their disgust with the occupation of Gaza. They are vowing not to return to the war-zone. If only more people on all sides would just put down the weapons and learn war no more!

“Therefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear/listen, slow to speak, slow to wrath: For the wrath of man is not the righteousness of God.”

James 1:19-20

“Enter not into the path of the wicked, and go not in the way of evil men. Avoid it, pass not by it, turn from it, and pass away. For they sleep not, except they have done mischief; and their sleep is taken away, unless they cause some to fall. For they eat the bread of wickedness, and drink the wine of violence.”

Proverbs 4:14-17

“And it shall come to pass in the last days… many people shall come and say, ‘Come, and let us go up to the Mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob; and He will teach us of His ways, … and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks: nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more.”

Isaiah 2:2-4

“As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: There is none that understands, there is none that seeks after God. They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that does good, no, not one. Their throat is an open sepulcher; with their tongues they have used deceit; the poison of asps is under their lips: Whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness: Their feet are swift to shed blood: Destruction and misery are in their ways: And the way of peace have they not known: There is no fear/reverence of God before their eyes.”

Romans 3:10-18

Ukraine-Russian War

Ukraine and Russia continue their war with battles reaching outside of their own territories. In Mali, Russian fighters known as the Wagner group were ambushed while fighting in the west African nation. Ukraine has now claimed to have played a role in that ambush implying they provided information, but did not go so far as to say Ukrainians were on the ground in Mali. Ukrainian forces are reportedly active in Sudan, another country where Russian Wagner fighters are also involved in the on-going war. It appears Africa is becoming another battle zone where ongoing wars are expanding to include both Russian’s and Ukrainians.

NATO

NATO met in July with the admission that Ukraine will join the group at some point, although no date was set. The US decided to install long-range weapons in Germany starting in 2026, triggering a response from Putin condemning the decision. Earlier in the month, the US defense secretary announced a new $2.3Billion allocation to Ukraine for weapons and defense interceptors. Congress has not declared war on Russia, yet the US continues to supply weapons and use Ukrainian citizens to fight this war for them. The Ukraine-Russia war has not made the unofficial list of proxy wars found on Wikipedia, but it sure meets the definition, and is a way politicians can get around an actual declaration of war.

Just like the Israel-Hamas war, innocent children are often the victims of war. In July a children’s hospital was bombed in Kyiv, killing at least four children of thirty-eight civilians.

“Their feet run to evil, and they make haste to shed innocent blood: their thoughts are thoughts of iniquity; wasting and destruction are in their paths. Isaiah 59:7-8

Wars and Rumors of War

A meeting between US and Japanese diplomats led to the ‘upgrade of military ties’ in response to a ‘rising threat’ from China. Nations continue to align their military’s for future wars around the globe.

North Korea marked the 71st anniversary of the Korean War Armistice that ended the Korean War while at the same time vowing to ‘totally destroy’ the enemies of North Korea if given the order by Kim Jong-un.

“You shall hear of wars and rumors of wars: see that you are not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.”

Matthew 24:5

Violence

Violence from shootings and abuse made the news in July. The assassination attempt on Donald Trump exposed the depth of divisions between people and their politics. The world reacted with shock and condemnation, while at the same time continuing their wars and conflicts that kill citizens on a daily basis. The leaders preach violence yet act surprised when it hits so close to home.

Violence against women are at the highest levels in Brazil for two years in a row. An increase in rapes contributed significantly to the unprecedented violence with a recorded 83,988 rapes in just one year! The Brazilian Forum on Public Safety pointed to ‘lingering after-effects of the Covid-19 pandemic.’ The forum’s executive director stated, “Brazil has always been a very violent country… but it seems that the pandemic changed something. The tensions that arose in the domestic environment potentially exacerbated all these forms of violence.”

Violence against women in Brazil reaches highest levels on record

“For where envying and strife (contention, variance, a quarrel) is, there is confusion and every evil work.”

James 3:16

Child Abuse & Violence

New Zealand is grappling with a just released report that at least 200,000 children and adults were the victims of abuse while in state and faith-based care. The report also makes a connection between the sexual and mental abuse many of the survivors ‘experienced with a future of homelessness, poverty, addiction and suicide. There is a worldwide epidemic of these tribulations. Could abuse and neglect be a major cause of the epidemics?

Likewise, Australian disabled children were, and still are, allegedly kept ‘in cages’ while under institutional care.

In the US, an investigation into Native American government boarding schools, which were established to assimilate Native American children, found that at least 973 children died in the schools. More than 400 Religious and private institutions were government funded to carry out the assimilation with the last one closing in 1969.

Currently, thousands of migrant children are entering the United States. A company which operates twenty-nine shelters for unaccompanied migrant children has been found to be sexually abusing children. The US has given the company at least $6billion to operate the shelters from 2015.

Hypocrisy

Excommunication

Speaking of child abuse, the Roman Catholic church excommunicated an archbishop in the US, but not for the rampant abuse that permeates the organization. What did get an archbishop excommunicated was being guilty of ‘schism’ because the archbishop refused ‘to recognize and submit to the supreme pontiff’ as exhibited by his public criticism of the Pope.

Vatican excommunicates its former ambassador to US

“Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees (religious teachers), hypocrites! for you are like unto white washed sepulchers, which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are within full of dead men’s bones, and of all uncleanness. Even so you also outwardly appear righteous unto men, but within you are full of hypocrisy and iniquity.”

Matthew 23:27-28

Olympics

The Olympics glorify and normalize an ancient pagan culture every time they are held. This year those pagan traits were on full display. The opening ceremony included an array of Greek gods and goddess, that truly gets back to the root of the Olympics. This world celebration was certainly not appropriate for kids, yet parents and children alike cheered at the exhibition.

An uproar ensued when one particular scene full of drag queens appeared to imitate ‘The Last Supper’ yet the organizers were quick to associate the spectacle with the Greek god Dionysus. Does that make the presentation OK? It is contrary to God the Creator and glorifies ancient pagan worship practice and beliefs, something you are to get away from!

The Olympics certainly have not gone on without a hitch. The high-speed rail system was sabotaged and disrupted and the flag was hung upside down during the opening ceremony. Swim events were delayed or canceled due to the levels of bacteria in the Seine river and at least one participant was allegedly raped by a gang while out in Paris.

Speaking of violence against women, the women’s boxing event was plagued with controversy over an opponent who failed gender eligibility tests. Typically when a man beats up a woman it is considered domestic violence, but in the Olympics one gets an award.

Greek Origins

One volleyball participant was booed, unsurprisingly, considering he is a convicted child rapist. Now that’s a true Olympian! Pederasty was a ‘socially acknowledged practice in Ancient Greece and Rome.’ Truly, this event has turned back to its roots.

Ephesians 6:12

Protests

Protestors in Nigeria demonstrated against record inflation which is causing a rise in economic hardship. Rising energy prices have been central to the protests. Similarly, protests took place in Kenya to denounce a new tax law. Thirty-nine protestors were killed in the rallies.

In South Korea, 6,500 workers went on strike against Samsung Electronics. They are campaigning for better pay and benefits. Meanwhile, in Bangladesh, more than 150 protestors were killed when demonstrations by students over ‘discriminatory’ quotas for government jobs became violent. Many students claim they were tortured by the police brought in to arrest protestors.

Protests against the Israel-Gaza war continue including during the speech by Netanyahu in the US and in Israel itself. Protestors in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem called for a cease-fire.

Caught in Unawares

“And take heed to yourself, lest at any time your hearts are overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness1“The serpents are the leaders of the peoples and their wine is their ways.” DD 3:19, and cares of this life, and so that day comes upon you in unawareness. For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth. You watch therefore, and pray always, that you may be able to escape all these things that shall come to pass and to stand before the Son of Adam.”
