Prophecy Monthly – November 2023

November news headlines continued to be dominated by the War in the Middle East. The Israel-Hamas conflict had a momentary ceasefire only to erupt again. Protests around the world continued to show the divisions between governments and populations when it comes to the Middle East War. In other news; earthquakes and volcanic eruptions increased worldwide as the sun advances toward solar maximum. Lastly a gathering of World Leaders in San Francisco highlighted the hypocrisy of both governments and the media.

The following map is a summary of current events related to prophecy. Below the map you will find the event details and relevant Scriptural references. Many people have been taught God’s Word in the past tense. This is incorrect. The teachings and scenarios in the Bible and God’s Word are all prophetic, pointing to a future time, and that time is now.

Wars and Rumors of Wars

Israel & Hamas War

The Israel-Hamas War has continued to escalate with only a brief ceasefire. As of the end of November the combined death tolls have risen to over 16,000 with a majority of those killed being women and children living in the Gaza strip. The ceasefire did result in the exchange of prisoners held on both sides, but it ended when the fighting picked right back up again.

The US government has continued its hard stance to 100% support Israel even as Biden has been sued for complicity in genocide against Palestinians. Senator Lindsay Graham was asked by CNN if there was ‘a threshold… in which the US would say, ‘Let’s hold off for a second in terms of civilian casualties?'” He re-framed the question and responded, ‘Is there any limit what Israel should do to the people who are trying to slaughter the Jews?’ Graham continued, ‘The answer is no. There is no limit.’ This exchange highlights the justification being used in the US by those who are protesting against a cease-fire.

“Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place to wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.”

Romans 12:19

“Therefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear/listen, slow to speak, slow to wrath: For the wrath of man is not the righteousness of God.”

James 1:19-20

Because the State of Israel has poured out its wrath on the people of Gaza and the West Bank, God will not be with them.

“But he that does wrong shall receive for the wrong which he has done: and there is no respect of persons.”

Colossians 3:25

“The man who takes vengeance will have vengeance taken on him by the Lord, and he will keep close watch of his sins. Forgive your neighbor his wrongdoing; then your sins will be forgiven when you pray. Shall one man bear hatred against another, and yet ask healing from the Lord? Does he have no mercy on a man like himself, and yet pray for his own sins? If he, though he is flesh and blood, nourishes hatred, who will atone for his sins?”

War over Gas?

Israel’s relentless attack on Gaza is in retaliation for the October 7th attacks and with the intent of rescuing the remaining hostages, but there is also a major gas field in play. Back in 2014 the Guardian reported on Israel’s desire to control the gas field, and now others have brought this factor into the current conflict.

As reported in Reuters in June of this year, Israel gave preliminary approval for development of the gas-field, yet acknowledged security would need to be coordinated with Egypt and Palestinian authorities. Netanyahu’s office said the Gaza marine project progress would hinge on ‘preserving the State of Israel’s security and diplomatic needs.’ At the time Hamas responded ‘We affirm that our people in Gaza have the rights to their natural resources.’

A few days after the start of the War, Israel instructed Chevron to stop producing Gas from one of its platforms, called Tamar, off the coast of Gaza. Chevron’s second platform, called Leviathan, made up for the loss to Israel, but there were impacts to both Jordan and Egypt. The platform was restarted in November.

Military-Industrial Complex

The US is supplying most of the weapons imported into Israel with Biden pledging to send $14.3 Billion to Israel for the current war. They have been doing so for many years. In fact since World War II the US Aid to Israel, which includes the value of weapons, has totaled $318 Billion or $3-$4 Billion a year. Why? The US sees Israel as a critical ally in the Middle East ‘to protect our interests.’ Here is a compilation of interviews with Joe Biden regarding that very relationship.

The above video did not include Biden’s most recent comments at the beginning of the Israel-Hamas War. In an address to the American people he said, ‘…American workers are building the arsenal of democracy…’

Now, you have to ask yourself, when Biden says Israel is key to protect ‘our’ as in the US’s interests in the Middle East, what are those interests? There is no part of the Middle east that is a US territory. Those interests are corporate interests, mainly tied to the energy industry, hence the industry part of the military-industrial complex. For example, the Tamar platform Israel instructed Chevron to shutdown, is within the range of Gaza rockets. The booklet ‘War is a racquet’ by Major General Smedley Butler has been highlighted before, but it is worth highlighting again. Take 30 minutes and read it here.

“And it shall come to pass in the last days… many people shall go and say, Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of His ways, … and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruninghooks: nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more.”

Military Build-Up and US Military Activity

The US is not only increasing it’s direct funding to Israel, it is also continuing to increase it’s own military presence in the region. A guided missile submarine joined the two carrier strike groups already deployed to the area last month. An increase in the number of attacks on bases with US troops has led the US to retaliate with airstrikes in Syria against Iran-backed organizations.

“And the king (leader) shall do according to his will; and he shall exalt himself… But in his estate (place) shall he honor the God of forces (weapons): and a god whom his fathers knew not shall he honor with gold and silver, and with precious stones, and pleasant things.”

Daniel 11:36-38

“As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: There is none that understands, there is none that seeks after God. They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that does good, no, not one. Their throat is an open sepulchre; with their tongues they have used deceit; the poison of asps is under their lips: Whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness: Their feet are swift to shed blood: Destruction and misery are in their ways: And the way of peace have they not known: There is no fear of God before their eyes.”

Ukraine-Russian War

The Ukraine-Russian war is at a stalemate. After thousands of lives lost on both sides and the consumption of billions of dollars worth of ammunition and military equipment, the fighting line has barely moved. Zelensky was interviewed for a TIME magazine article in which the author wrote: ‘In some branches of the military, the shortage of personnel has become even more dire than the deficit in arms and ammunition. One of Zelensky’s close aides tells me that even if the U.S. and its allies come through with all the weapons they have pledged, “we don’t have the men to use them.”‘

Ukraine has a recruitment problem. It’s own people are fleeing the country to avoid conscription and more women are being relied upon to join the ranks. Foreign fighters from around the world, including Columbia, have joined the ranks only to become victims of the war.

Biden continues to push for more funding to support Ukraine. The military-industrial complex isn’t just about sending troops and ships oversees to protect US interests. It’s also about the transfer of funds from the taxpayers to the corporations that make the ammunition, tanks and air defense systems. Many Americans profit from the war industry, with CEO’s taking home the greatest profits.

Holidays

Fall ushers in the ‘holiday season’ starting with Halloween and the Day of the Dead, followed by Thanksgiving. Lesser celebrated holidays in the US include All Saints Day and Diwali, the Hindu festival of light. During this years Diwali celebration, in which the victory of light is celebrated over darkness, a world record number of oil lamps were lit and burned at the same time. The holiday also includes fireworks leading to a significant increase in hazardous air pollution ten times above the global safety threshold!

In the US, the national Christmas tree was put up a few days after Thanksgiving, only to be blown over by a gust of wind. The same thing happened back in 2011.

“Thus saith the Lord, Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them. For the customs of the people are vain: for one cuts a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the axe. They deck it with silver and with gold; they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it move not.”

Jeremiah 10:2-4

None of these holidays are called for by God, but are instead made up by the vain imaginations of men. Listen to our podcasts to learn about the history of some of these holidays and how they relate to God’s Word.

Protests

Protests continued around the world both in support of the War in Gaza and calling for a cease-fire in Gaza. In London a crowd estimated between 300,000 and 800,000 marched to the US Embassy demanding a cease-fire. In Washington DC, a large protest against Anti-semitism and against a cease-fire. Protests around the US have shutdown bridges in New York and San Francisco, temporarily closed freeways, denied access to major office buildings, took over government buildings and even interrupted the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade as well as the New York City Christmas Tree lighting.

Meanwhile, India has outright banned any protests that support Palestinians.

Hypocrisy

APEC – San Francisco

In November the Asian-Pacific Economic Cooperation Summit was held in San Francisco. This meeting of world leaders to discuss the worlds economics didn’t get off to a great start when a Czech camera crew was robbed of their equipment. In addition, the media highlighted the significant effort taken to clean up and clean out the homeless encampments that had previously occupied the 12-block section of the city now cordoned off for the APEC summit. These two events speak for themselves in regards to how the local economy is effecting part of the population.

The outcome of the summit was a joint statement agreeing ‘to ensure the “vital role” of the WTO, “we support necessary reform to improve all of the WTO’s functions, so that members can better achieve the WTO’s foundational objectives and address existing and emerging global trade challenges.”‘ That’s a lot of words that gives us no idea to what the WTO is actually up to. It is very doubtful the homeless that have since moved back into the downtown neighborhood streets will benefit from those WTO’s ‘foundational objectives and challenges’, but the major corporations surly will! Protestors highlighted this exact issue.

That we may buy the poor for silver, and the needy for a pair of shoes; yes, and sell the refuse of the wheat/food?”

Supreme Court Ethics Code

A few months ago, the Supreme Court was marred by more scandals involving gifts from active or potential representatives of cases before them. In November, they responded with the creation of an ethics code. The only problem is, no agreement has been made on who or which group will enforce it. It is just up to the members of the Supreme Court to hold themselves accountable for a document they wrote.

Sexual abuse in Churches

The sexual abuse scandal within the Roman Catholic Church has resulted in thousands of lawsuits and the declared bankruptcies of over 20 Archdioceses in the US alone. The Oakland Archdioceses is one that declared bankruptcy earlier this year, but victims question the churches motivations when bankruptcy just puts their abuse cases on hold.

An underrepresented group of Abuse victims is the Black survivors of the Catholic clergy sexual abuse crises. Victims who recently came forward in Baltimore are bringing to light their victimization at the hands of clergy.

In Ohio, a priest was given a life sentence for sex-trafficking boys. The priest was placed on ‘administrative leave’ by the diocese of Toledo, but has maintained his status of a priest.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, aka the Mormons, had a child-sexual abuse lawsuit dismissed because the abuse information was received during a ‘spiritual confession.’ The abuser who was also the father of the victim was excommunicated from the church, but because no civil authorities were notified, the abuse continued for seven more years and expanded to involve a second daughter. It was only when the fathers own videos of him abusing his daughters were posted on the internet that Homeland Security tracked him down and arrested him. He died by suicide while awaiting trial. The Church, that knew of the abuse has won it’s claim that it had no duty to report the crime.

In the parable of the Good Samaritan, consider these abused children as if they are the certain one who fell among thieves, was wounded and left for half dead. Which of the three that came by would these priests be? Luke 10:30-37.

Matthew 23:27-28

“Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.”

Matthew 7:15

A House Divided

The Roman Catholic Church has been in the news for more than just their ongoing Child Sexual Abuse Scandal. They are a house divided! A clear ‘conservative’ group has become more and more vocal against the ‘liberal’ views of Pope Francis. To that end, Pope Francis ‘dismissed’ a Texas Bishop that was critical of ‘the pontiff’s attempt to make the Catholic church more welcoming to the LGBTQ+ community and attempts by Francis to give lay people more responsibility in the church.’

According to the BBC Cardinal Burke ‘held a conference called The Synodal Babel in Rome on the eve of the Pope’s synod, or meeting of bishops, last month. He also joined fellow conservatives in publishing a “declaration of truths” in 2019 that described the Catholic church as disoriented and confused under Pope Francis, saying that it had moved away from core teachings on divorce, contraception, homosexuality and gender.’

At the same time, a group of German catholic women who had previously resigned from the Vatican’s Synodal Path created a synodal committee composed of bishops and lay delegates institution that were considered to have authority to contradict the Pope’s Synodal Path. The ‘battle of the Synods’ (not their phrasing, but it really should be!) led Pope Francis to issue a warning letter that ‘parts of the German church are “threatening to move even further away from the common path of our universal church.”’

Earthquakes & Volcanoes

Several Volcanoes around the world have increased in activity. The Mount St. Helens Volcano is raising concern after 50 earthquakes occurred in one week. In Papua New Guinea a volcanic eruption led to a tsunami concern. But the most active volcanic activity has been in Iceland, where an entire town has been evacuated and fissures have opened up the ground and broken apart homes. Iceland has declared a State of emergency amid the ongoing earthquakes and rumbling coming from the earth. 46 volcanoes are currently erupting around the earth.

A 5.6 magnitude earthquake in Nepal killed at least 157 people. There were 12 earthquakes in November with a magnitude of 6.0 or greater, leading to a very shaky month! There were also minor earthquakes in places that don’t normally experience them, such as in Texas and Illinois.
