The month of September was dominated by an expanding war, violence and tribulation from disease, chemical releases and abuse scandals. The State of Israel expanded its war by invading Lebanon and attacking Syria. Russia is expanding its military budget while the US is considering allowing Ukraine to fire long-range missiles further into Russia. Russia would consider ‘NATO at war’ with them if Ukraine is given the OK. Extreme weather resulted in hurricanes, typhoons, flooding and mudslides causing many deaths and the evacuation of millions.
The following map is a summary of current events related to prophecy. Below the map you will find the event details and relevant Scriptural references. Many people have been taught God’s Word in the past tense. This is incorrect. The teachings and scenarios in the Bible and God’s Word are all prophetic, pointing to a future time, and that time is now.
Tribulations
Poverty
In the US, over 36 million people, 11% of the population, live in poverty, more than most other wealthy countries. It was reported this past month that even though income increased in 2023, the poverty rate also increased. In Argentina, over 50% of the citizens now fall under the poverty line, or 3.4 million people.
Pesticide Industry Pesters Activists with US Government Assistance
Scientists around the world have concluded that pesticides used in industrial food production are harmful to people. Now an investigation has shown that individuals who have spoken out against the use of pesticides had their personal information collected and distributed in a private social network. This network was made accessible to companies associated with the pesticide industry as well as manufacturers of genetically modified food. The network was partially funded by the US government and used to attack the activists.
Chemical Fire & Leak
A BioLab facility in Georgia erupted into a massive chemical fire in September. Residents near the plant were evacuated and many others were told to shelter in place. The facility, known to hold water-reactive chemicals and large amounts of chlorine, caught fire sending a smoke plume visible from 30 miles away.
Residents living near Cincinnati, Ohio also evacuated their homes when a rail car leaked styrene (a toxic carcinogen) contaminating the air. The White House urged residents to heed the evacuation warnings in Ohio.
Chemical Approvals and Government Culpability
The EPA decided in September to withdraw approval for a Chevron plastic-based fuel. Alarmingly, there is a well documented likely-hood to cause cancer. One of the chemicals approved by the EPA was expected to cause cancer in one in four people exposed over their lifetime. Another additive exceeded the acceptable limits of the EPA by 1 million times with everyone exposed to the additive expected to develop cancer.
Just this month a study showed more than 3,600 chemicals have been found in humans. These chemicals were already approved for food contact. According to this article, US law ‘does not require the FDA to consider new science after a chemical is approved for food contact.’ In another study, high levels of hormone-disrupting toxins have been found in the urine samples of four-to eight-year-olds who use more personal care products. As the linked article points out, ‘children are especially vulnerable… because they have a greater area of skin surface relative to their body weight..’ and ‘little research on children’s exposure to the chemicals in personal care products exists.’
Exclusion of regulation for US Military
Meanwhile, there is a push to regulate more PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances) also referred to as F-gases and generalized as ‘forever chemicals’ but the US military is looking for exceptions. The current Senate Defense Bill seeks to redefine the definition of these gases with the intent of excluding regulation of many ‘lucrative’ chemicals used by the military.
Normalization instead of Investigation
More and more government approved chemicals, pharmaceutical drugs and food additives are found to cause cancer and contribute to cellular dysfunction leading to obesity. In addition, many disrupt the endocrine system which regulates hormones. At the same time, consequences of exposure to these chemicals such as obesity and gender dysphoria is culturally being normalized with backing, and in some cases promotion, by the government.
For example, the House committee passed a bill this year that would allow the weight loss drug (another man-made chemical!) to be partially or fully covered by Medicare. This is not addressing the cause of obesity and ‘the fix’ can often cause even more harm. Currently twenty-six states cover gender-affirming care through Medicaid programs. The Biden-Harris administration celebrated Transgender day of Visibility with a fact sheet that included promotion of gender-affirming care for adolescents. Much of the document addresses violence against transgender people, and violence of any kind against anyone is unacceptable, but no where is there a concern for why there is a rise in gender dysphoria. Nor is there mention of the violence of irreversible gender reassignment.
Let’s consider what is going on in the big picture. A government gave approval for something that harms citizens. Then the government normalizes the harm instead of first acknowledging a harm has been done, secondly acknowledging the governments contribution to the harms incurred and finally finding a way to reverse the harm from happening to future generations. Normalization of harm is not ‘following the science’.
Forsaking God
God warned what would happen if the people chose a leader over them that was not chosen by God and in line with Him. Consider the culpability of the government. It has given approval of these chemicals and drugs as well as continued support for wars around the world. With all that in mind, read the excerpt from 1st Samuel below. Sound familiar?
“Then all the elders of Israel gathered themselves together, and came to Samuel… And said unto him, …now make us a king (ruler) to judge us like all the nations. But the thing displeased Samuel, when they said, Give us a king to judge us. And Samuel prayed unto the LORD. And the LORD said unto Samuel, Hearken to the voice of the people in all that they say unto you: for they have not rejected you, but they have rejected Me, that I should not reign over them. According to all the works which they have done since the day that I brought them up out of Egypt even unto this day, wherewith they have forsaken Me, and served other gods, so do they also unto you. Now therefore hearken unto their voice: howbeit yet protest solemnly unto them, and show them the manner of the king (government) that shall reign over them. And Samuel told all the words of the Lord unto the people that asked of him a king. And he said, This will be the manner of the king (government) that shall reign over you: He will take your sons, and appoint them for himself, for his chariots (armored for war), and to be his horsemen; and some shall run before his chariots (infantry). And he will appoint him captains over thousands, and captains over fifties; and will set them to ear (work) his ground, and to reap his harvest, and to make his instruments (weapons) of war, and instruments (equipment) of his chariots. And he will take your daughters to be confectioneries, and to be cooks, and to be bakers. And he will take your fields (land), and your vineyards, and your olive yards (produce), even the best of them, and give them to his servants. And he will take the tenth (more like a third these days) of your seed/grain, and of your vineyards, and give to his officers, and to his servants. And he will take your menservants, and your maidservants, and your goodliest young men, and your asses, and put them to his work. He will take the tenth of your sheep (flock of people): and you shall be his servants. And you shall cry out in that day because of your king (government) which you shall have chosen you; and the LORD will not hear you in that day. Nevertheless the people refused to obey the voice of Samuel; and they said, ‘Nay; but we will have a king over us; That we also may be like all the nations; and that our king may judge us, and go out before us, and fight our battles.”
1 Samuel 8:4-20
“And he answered and said to me: ‘You also will be preserved until that time, namely until that sign which the Most High will bring about before the inhabitants of the earth at the end of days. When horror seizes the inhabitants of earth, and they fall into many tribulations and further, they fall into great torments. And it will happen that they will say in their thoughts because of their great tribulations, ‘The Mighty One does not anymore remember the earth’; It will happen when they lose hope, that the time will awake.”
2 Baruch 25:1-4
Extreme Weather
Storms & Floods
September was a month for Hurricanes and Typhoons. Helene, a category 4 hurricane, roared into the US impacting ten states with high winds and excessive rainfall. Damage spanned from Florida to North Carolina with Biden calling the storm ‘history-making’ as he pledged federal assistance. Many communities impacted by the flooding were completely cut off when roads failed, became blocked by trees or were flooded. Over a million people were without power and at least 200 died from the storm. Earlier in the month, Hurricane Francine, a category 2 storm, caused flooding and power outages in Louisiana.
Shanghai China was hit by the strongest typhoon, Typhoon Bebinca, in 75 years. 400,000 people were evacuated from the most at-risk areas. In Vietnam, Typhoon Yagi also flooded out towns and caused over 200 deaths. This same Typhoon hit Hainan, China, chasing 1 million people from their homes. In Nepal floods from excessive rain, 9.4 inches in 24 hours, led to deadly flooding taking the lives of at least 200 people.
Intensified storms in Africa caused floodwaters in Nigeria to submerge houses and displace at least 200,000 people. Over 200 people died from the high waters and a dam causeway failed, flooding the nearby residential areas. The waters also caused a jail to collapse releasing at least 200 inmates. It is the worst flooding for the country in twenty years.
“For now disasters have come upon the whole world, and you will stay among them, for God will not deliver you because you have sinned against Him.”
2 Esdras 15:27
Wars and Rumors of Wars
Israel-Hezbollah War in Lebanon
Israel expanded the borders of its warmongering by entering Lebanon both in the air and on the ground. This was after pagers and walkies-talkies exploded throughout Lebanon, an attack suspected to have been coordinated by Israel. Netanyahu added the safe return of its citizens to their homes near Lebanon as another ‘goal’ to its war activities, ensuring the military remains active for years to come. At least 1000 people, including women and children have already lost their lives in Lebanon. Meanwhile, in addition to the ongoing fighting in Gaza and the West bank, more than 200,000 Palestinians have had their pay withheld for work completed prior to October 7, 2023. Trade unions have accused Israel of violating international labor laws and causing many to go into extreme poverty.
Expanding War in Middle East
Netanyahu addressed the UN and said Israel ‘seeks peace’ while threatening more attacks against Hezbollah in Lebanon and continuing the fighting in Gaza and the West Bank. It should be noted that one of the ‘justifications’ for US support of the Ukraine war against Russia is the idea that Putin won’t stop the fighting in Ukraine, but will continue to expand into NATO territories. Meanwhile, the US is defiant in their ongoing support for Israel, a country which is in fact expanding the borders of it’s warmongering by assaulting Lebanon, Syria and Iran.
Israel also struck a military research center in Syria this past September, killing an estimated 25 people.
“Draw me not away with the wicked, and with the workers of iniquity, which speak peace to their neighbors, but mischief is in their hearts. Give them according to their deeds, and according to the wickedness of their endeavors: give them after the work of their hands; render to them their desert. Because they regard not the works of the LORD, nor the operation of His hands, He shall destroy them, and not build them up.”
Psalm 28:3-5
“And it shall come to pass in the last days… many people shall come and say, ‘Come, and let us go up to the Mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob; and He will teach us of His ways, … and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks: nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more.”
Isaiah 2:2-4
Ukraine-Russian War
Ukraine and Russia remain deadlocked in war. Russia intends to increase its defense budget by 40% to support its ongoing war with Ukraine. The move ‘has worried European war planners, who have said NATO underestimated Russia’s ability to sustain a long-term war.’ Meanwhile, Zelensky traveled to the US to attend the UN meeting and again ask for additional financial aid. The US committed another $8 billion in military assistance. Zelensky continues to push the US for approval to use long-range missiles against targets in Russia while Russia’s President Putin, has said if the US gives such an approval he will consider NATO ‘at war’ with Russia. So far, approval has not been given.
“Enter not into the path of the wicked, and go not in the way of evil men. Avoid it, don’t perish by it, turn from it, and pass away. For they sleep not, except they have done mischief; and their sleep is taken away, unless they cause some to fall. For they eat the bread of wickedness, and drink the wine of violence.”
Proverbs 4:14-17
“Their feet run to evil, and they make haste to shed innocent blood: their thoughts are thoughts of iniquity; wasting and destruction are in their paths. The way of peace they know not; and there is no judgment in their goings: they have made them crooked paths: whosoever goes therein shall not know peace.”
Isaiah 59:7-8
Sudan
The civil war in Sudan continues with the country’s army attempt to retake the capital from the Rapid Support Forces (RSF). The US is sending over $400 million in humanitarian aid.
“You shall hear of wars and rumors of wars: see that you are not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.”
Matthew 24:5
Violence
Mass shooting made the news in both the US and South Africa. In South Africa seventeen people were killed in one town from two shootings. Mass shootings in South Africa ‘have become increasingly common’ contributing to one of the highest murder rates in the world.
In the US, a mass shooting in Alabama took the lives of four people with the shooters still on the loose. Earlier in the month, a 14-year-old Georgia high school student murdered four people and injured nine. As is often the response, politicians spoke out against violence in America. Never mind that at the same time those same politicians were sending weapons around the world in support of ongoing violent wars. Presidential candidate, Kamala Harris, called it a senseless tragedy and said we have to end this epidemic of gun violence in our country. Only days later she proudly boasted about having a gun. What about “In God we Trust.”
Migration Violence
Around the world people are attempting to migrate with the intent of finding a better life. For many, the trip results in violence or even death, the very tribulations many are attempting to escape. The European Union funded National guard forces in Tunisia have been credited with reducing the number of migrants into Italy by 50,000 in 2024. But the cost to migrants has been high. The Tunisian National guard forces have been accused of committing rape and torture as well as colluding with smugglers. There is an unknown number of migrant deaths and the camps holding the migrants in Tunisia lack water and are rampant with disease.
“The earth also was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence. And God looked upon the earth and, behold, it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted his way upon the earth. And God said to Noah, ‘The end of all flesh is come before Me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth.’”
Genesis 6
Sexual Abuse by Catholic Clergy
Ireland is opening a statutory inquiry into the ‘sexual abuse at schools run by Catholic religious orders’ after a preliminary hearing found rampant abuse. The preliminary investigation found over 2,400 allegations of abuse in their limited inquiry.
Meanwhile, in the US, the Rockville Centre diocese in New York has made a settlement with 530 victims. The diocese ‘serves’ 1.2 million Catholics. A portion of the settlement will be paid by the diocese insurance company. How does any organization obtain insurance for committing sexual abuse against children?!
The Archdiocese of New Orleans continues to avoid transparency and responsibility with their strategies to avoid responsibility for abuse of children by their clergy. They are now ‘attacking the law’ that has allowed abuse victims to come forward after many years of silence. In addition the trial is once again delayed for a New Orleans priest due to an illness. There certainly is an illness plaguing the Roman Catholic Church, but there is no cure. Come out of her and be not partakers of her plagues.
“In the seventh week there will come priests; idolaters, adulterers, money lovers, arrogant, lawless, voluptuaries, pederasts…”
Testament of Levi 17:11
“And after these things I saw another angel come down from heaven, having great power; and the earth was lightened with his glory. And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils/demons, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird. For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies. And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, ‘Come out of her, my people, that you be not partakers of her sins, and that you receive not of her plagues. For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God has remembered her iniquities.”
Revelation 18:1-5
Modern Day Pharisees
Pope Francis compasses the Sea and Land
Pope Francis took to the air and made a whirlwind trip to the Asia Pacific including stops in Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, East Timor and Singapore. In connection with the previous section on Sexual Abuse by Clergy watch this three minute video looking at the transfer of abusive Catholic priests to the very region visited by Pope Francis.
During his trip he attended 40 events including holding mass in large venues multiple times. In addition to reaching out to his followers, Pope Francis met with Muslim leaders and the various country’s politicians. The cost for the trip is mostly picked up by the countries visited, not the Vatican. For example, East Timor, an extremely poor country, is spending $12 million for the two-day visit drawing ire from activists and human rights organizations within the country.
Francis also visited Belgium near the end of the month to ‘boost his dwindling flock’. Even though he was warmly welcomed, he was also challenged by the King regarding the Catholic Church’s handling of the sexual abuse scandal.
“Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees (religious teachers), hypocrites! for you compass sea and land to make one convert, and when he is made, you make him two-fold more the child of hell than yourselves….. you are like unto white washed sepulchers, which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are within full of dead men’s bones, and of all uncleanness. Even so you also outwardly appear righteous unto men, but within you are full of hypocrisy and iniquity.”
Matthew 23:15, 27-28
Heatwaves
Europe is currently the fastest warming continent. Melting glaciers between Switzerland and Italy have led the two countries to redefine their borders as the landscape changes. The melting glaciers are undeniable evidence of ongoing changes to the environment, but the cause can be attributed to both natural and man-made changes. Forces at play include natural long-term weather cycles of the planet, man-made environmental changes as well as impacts on the entire solar system from the sun.
“But the day of the LORD will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.”
2 Peter 3:10
And the LORD will create upon every dwelling place of mount Zion, and upon her assemblies, a cloud and smoke by day, and the shining of a flaming fire by night: for upon all the glory shall be a defense. And there shall be a Tabernacle for a shadow in the daytime from the heat, and for a place of refuge, and for a covert from storm and from rain.
Isaiah 4:5-6
Protests
A nationwide strike in Israel ended after eight hours with a court order. Schools, offices and the airport all closed after outrage over the discovery of the bodies of six hostages. The nationwide strike was against the government’s handling of hostage negotiations. Protestors in Melbourne, Australia were met with excessive force. The anti-war protestors were outside the Land Forces Weapons Expo. Police brought what was called ‘riot-type’ response with rubber bullets, smoke grenades and OC (pepper) spray injuring up to 100 people. Meanwhile, in Israel, an 80 year old Holocaust survivor marked her birthday with a protest outside of an Israeli prison. An estimated 10,000 Palestinians are being held by Israel, many without a charge against them or a trial.
In Martinique, a curfew was imposed after protests over the cost-of-living turned violent. There were ‘vehicles engulfed in flames, gutted buildings and heavily geared riot police’ witnessed during the protests.
Meanwhile in New York, protestors gathered to welcome Netanyahu in opposition to both the military actions of Israel and the US support through supplying arms.
“And there shall be… upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring (protests).”
Luke 21:25
Caught in Unawares
“And take heed to yourself, lest at any time your hearts are overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness1“The serpents are the leaders of the peoples and their wine is their ways.” DD 3:19, and cares of this life, and so that day comes upon you in unawareness. For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth. You watch therefore, and pray always, that you may be able to escape all these things that shall come to pass and to stand before the Son of Adam.”
Luke 21:34-36
