Q&A: “Is Revelation 13 being fulfilled now?”

The Scripture

Revelation Chapter 13 is arguably the best known piece of scripture in the Bible.  This is the prophecy of the Mark of the Beast.  We are going to focus on the last few verses to answer this question, but I encourage you to read the entire chapter for context.

To summarize, there is a dragon (lit. serpent, same as in Revelation 12:3) and two beasts.  The first beast is a governing or secular power having the traits of those governments or kingdoms that have gone before and symbolized by the leopard, bear and lion (cf. Daniel 7). The dragon empowers the first beast with seven heads and ten horns. The second beast is a false religion that looks righteous (like a Lamb) but speaks wickedness (like a dragon). The second beast, the false religion, will cause all to serve and take the mark of the first beast, the oppressive government. Historically, this dynamic of religion empowering government has always existed, but not on a worldwide scale. These two entities are the Whore and Beast of Revelation 17.

Now we are going to focus on the last few verses to determine how we will know if or when Revelation 13 is being fulfilled.

And he (the first beast) causes all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive their mark in their right hand, and in their foreheads: And that no one might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, the name (or authority) of the beast, and the number of their name.

The Mark

With these two verses we can determine that when Revelation 13 is being fulfilled, a governing power will be forcing all people to receive a mark which will enable them to buy or sell. That seems simple enough, but many believe that this will be a physical tattoo on your forehead. So lets take a closer look at the Greek words translated Mark and Forehead.

Mark – charagma (khar’-ag-mah); a scratch or etching, i.e. stamp (as a badge of servitude), or sculptured figure (statue):

The Greek word charagma is the word from which we get the English word card.  So that Mark that they will have in their hand is a stamp, badge, card or passport.

Forehead – metopon (met’-o-pon); from meta (in the midst or amid) and ops (the face or eye);

The Greek word metopon which is translated forehead would literally be in the midst of the face or head.  That Mark would also be in the midst of the head or mind which would imply that it is something they know.

Metaphon only occurs in the book of Revelation and always in connection with a seal or mark. For example; Revelation 7:3, 9:4 and 14:1 point out that the servants of God have the Seal or Name of God in their foreheads.  Revelation 13:16 and 14:9 point out that it is the Mark of the Beast in the foreheads of the wicked.

The Seal

What is being said in both cases is that you will be identified by what is in your mind. Your understanding being in line with God (Good) or not Evil. Below are some examples:

Nevertheless the foundation of God stands sure, having this seal, The Lord knows them that are His. And, Let every one that calls on (or asks in Jn 14:13) the name (or authority) of the Lord depart from iniquity.

2 Timothy 2:19

The Lord knows those that are His by a seal which 2 Timothy 2:15 points out is “rightly dividing the Word of Truth” as a result of study. This seal is understanding as a result of studying the “Word of Truth” and therefore it is in your forehead or mind.

Study to shew yourself approved unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of truth.

The covenant God has made with Israel is to put His Laws in their Minds and Hearts. This again is understanding.

For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord; I will put My laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people:

Hebrews 8:10, Jeremiah 31:33

The seal in their forehead by which “the Lord will know them that are His” is their understanding of His Word.  Likewise the Mark of the Beast in the forehead is an understanding which would be wrongly dividing the Word of truth. (cf. 2 Ti 2:16-19)  This concept can be traced all the way back to the Beginning in the Tree of the knowledge of Good and Evil.

The Mark of the beast is something which identifies you and something you know.

And that no one might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, the name (or authority) of the beast, and the number of their name.

Revelation 13:17

You may not realize it, but you already have a number of your name memorized in your forehead or mind. Your Social Security Number, your Drivers License number and your bank account number are all examples of numbers that represent your name.  All that is left is something to tie it all together. A card, passport or phone app which will serve as your ID or identifying mark.

The Evidence

• Employment – A growing number of private companies are requiring workers to get vaccinated or forfeit their job.
  • Educators – The American Federation of Teachers is supportive of mandated vaccines for educators. The States of California and Hawaii are implementing a Statewide vaccine mandate for all school staff.
  • VA and HHS – All Employees will be required to get vaccinated.
  • Health care workers – The State of California is requiring vaccines for Health Care workers.
  • Equal Employment Opportunity Commission decreed that it is legal for companies to require employees to get a vaccine, as a condition of employment.

• Indoor Dining – San Francisco, New Orleans, New York and Los Angeles are among the first US Cities to initiate ‘vaccine mandates’ to eat or drink inside restaurants and bars. Vaccinated-only bars and restaurants are already in many cities including Seattle, Boston, Chicago and Atlanta.

• Banking – Morgan Stanley is banning non-vaccinated employees and clients at their NY headquarters.

• Education – Schools and Universities across the country are requiring vaccines for staff and students.
  
• Travel – The European Union is well on its way with implementation of it’s Digital Covid Certificate.

Whether or not you choose to get or have gotten a vaccine has nothing to do with this. The Covid-19 pandemic and the various vaccines are being used to initiate a worldwide ID system for proof of vaccination.

The Conclusion

This is truly unprecedented on a World scale. If you do not have proof of vaccination in your hand, which will be tied to the number of your name, you will not be able to buy or sell.  We are witnessing the worldwide setting up of the mechanism which will be used to fulfill Revelation 13 and implement the Mark of the Beast.

Awake and look up for your redemption draws near. Study to show yourself approved of God and to receive His Seal in your mind lest you are deceived by the doctrines of men and take the Mark of Beast.
