The Trumpet is Sounding

“Blow the trumpet in Zion and sound an alarm in My Holy Mountain: let all the inhabitants of the land tremble: for the Day of the LORD comes, for it is near at hand; A Day of darkness and of gloominess, a day of clouds and of thick darkness…” Joel 2:1-2

“Be glad then, you children of Zion and rejoice in the LORD your God: for He has given you the former rain in a righteous measure and He will cause to come down for you the rain, the former rain and the latter rain in the (Great Sign of the) New Moon.” Joel 2:23

Signs of the End – from Heaven

“And Jesus said, ‘Take heed that you are not deceived: for many shall come in my name saying I am Christ; and the time draws near: therefore, don’t you go after them. But when you shall hear of wars and commotions/rumors of war, don’t be terrified: for these things must first come to pass; but the end is not yet. Then he said to them, ‘Nation shall rise against nation and kingdom against kingdom: And great earthquakes shall be in diverse places, and famines, and pestilences; and fearful sights and there shall be great signs from Heaven.” Luke 21:8-11

“And there shall be signs in the Sun, and in the Moon, and in the Stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; Men’s hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of Heaven shall be shaken. And then shall they see the Son of Adam coming in a cloud with power and great glory. And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption/Redeemer draws near.” Luke 21:25-28

The two brightest celestial bodies seen in the night sky, our natural satellite the Moon and the planet Venus, which will be most obvious because it is so bright, shining at magnitude –4.8 on March 1. It becomes obvious within 30 minutes of sunset. On that date, a slender crescent Moon stood 6.5° due south (to the lower left) of Venus. This is the Great Sign of a match made in Heaven!

To Comfort My People

The German composer, Handel, opened his famous concert, Messiah, with this song from Scripture. The Prophet Isaiah wrote in chapter 40 a message to “Comfort My people, Israel” to let them know their appointed time has come to deliver them and remove the yoke of those who serve themselves of them.

“Comfort ye, comfort ye my people, saith your God. Speak ye comfortably to Jerusalem, and cry unto her, that her warfare/appointed time is accomplished, that her iniquity is pardoned: for she has received of the LORD’s hand double for all her sins.
The voice of him that crieth in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make straight in the desert a highway for our God. Every valley shall be exalted, and every mountain and hill shall be made low: the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough places plain: And the glory of the Lord shall be revealed, and all people shall see it together: for the mouth of the Lord hath spoken it.”

The Pentecost and the Promise of God

This is a day celebrated by both the ‘Jews’ and the ‘Christians’ only in different ways. This being one of the feasts ordained by God for the children of Israel to observe throughout their generations. It marks the fiftieth day (7 weeks plus one day) after the Passover or Exodus of Israel out of Egypt. It is in commemoration of the day Moses received the Tablets of the Law. This was to establish the Covenant between God and Israel. The Feast of Weeks or Shavuot and to bring in the firstfruits of the harvest.

By some, May 31, 2020 will be celebrated as the Pentecost (the Greek word for fifty). Is it just a day to go to church and pay your tithe or is there something else there hidden from view? What is the significance?

Others, from the evenings of May 28 to May 30 will be celebrating the “Feast of Weeks.” It also commemorates the Feast of the Firstfruits when the firstfruits of the wheat harvest were to be brought before God in thanksgiving. Is it just a harvest or tithe of wheat? Is it a time to eat cheese? Or is there something hidden from view? What is the significance?
